Canon 1200mm L f5.6, Not exactly a walkabout lens and it's a beast! :eek:

Greedy b*******s, though I suppose they'll find a use for them.

I find the engineering in these things mind blowing, did I also read somewhere that the crystal used to coat the front element is specially grown for a year or was I drunk?

Many of Canon's L lenses have Fluorite elements.

You do realise that Sports Illustrated is an editorial sports magazine with one of the largest magazine readerships in the world? The Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition is just an annual special edition.

So they are going to be putting those lenses to use at sports events, rather than to shoot a model on a beach from half a mile away!
