Is there a way to disable the LEDs on the MSI 480 without using the Gaming app? As I see there is two connectors on the board which I guess one is for LED and the other one for fan?

Got my card installed today and I've noticed that when I have both monitors connected (one DVI, one HDMI), the memory clock is stuck at 2GHz and my idle temps are around 50ºc. From what I've read it's normal.

I'd like to set a custom fan profile but can't find a suitable option in Wattman. I have the min/target settings, but I'd like to set the fan speed at a given temperature.

What are other people using for fan control?

I use MSI afterburner.

Excellent, thanks. I had to upgrade to a newer version to get the fan control but all sorted now.

Regarding the jump in RAM speed when using 2 monitors, I've read that running both monitors from DisplayPort can stop it from happening. Has anyone experienced this before I go out and buy a couple of cables?

If Wattman shows 1150 mV and I put +60 mV in AB, is the actual voltage 1.21v? Just wondering, and is 1430/2150 at 1.21v alright for GTR Black?

P.S.
For some reason stock frequency was 1288 instead of 1338 MHz o.O I can't remember if I posted this here already or not :/

Thats correct, 1.150v + 0.06v =1.21v
Your stock frequency of 1288mhz is when the card is running below a certain work threshold. When you start gaming or benching, the load is greater and the card will automatically boost to the higher over clock, in your case 1338mhz.

WRT your overclock, I'd think that the Vcore is at max when set to 1.21V (but I'm a wuss when it comes to over volting gpus)
I have the non black GTR 480 and I need 100mv boost to the Vcore (my stock Vcore is 1.125v, so its less than yours,) to get to 1420mhz stable, but for normal usage I run entirely at stock as the performance is easily good enough.

Seems about right. my better card does 1490/2250 at 1.3v and the worse one does 1440/2150 at 1.3v.

can anyone tell me the length of the pcb on the reference card (https://www.overclockers.co.uk/xfx-...2mb-water-cooled-graphics-card-wc-155-tl.html) please? i am trying to plan my loop and it looks to be a lot smaller than what i have now but all the website tell me the length with the cooler attached and well we can see the cooler goes a fair bit smaller.

EDIT - found the dimensions - RX 480 Dimensions: 240mm/9.45 inches, PCB: 180mm/7.1 Inches.

Guys

Are any of the R480X models worth me upgrading from my MSI lightning 290x?

or am I best to wait for Vega?

I was on a r9 290 for a while after i sold my 1070 and are now using a rx 480. I will say that unless you are tired of the heat and powerdraw i would not upgrade to a rx 480 from a 290x but instead wait for vega.

just noticed, specially with the top priced cards, a drop in pricing.
Specially trade is seen the Strix drop £60 off . Checked OCUK prices and seems cheaper then about 2 weeks ago which was at the £280/90 mark

Bought mine a month ago, still upside down, also the seal of Solomon graphic on the back plate is absent, according to powercolour they were getting complaints about its religious connotations.

My case isn't windowed though so.. Meh.
