And? Spending all that money to get onto a leaderboard? For what other reason than "look at me"..

I used to be the same, grown up now :p

You asked a question. You got an answer. No one said you had to like it. People spend money on all sorts of things for whatever reason makes their brain tick. When it comes to tech, sometimes doing things just because you can is enough of a reason. If people didn't dare to dream, and put their money where their mouth is, I doubt we'd even have a 1080ti in existence, never mind three of them in SLI. We all benefit from people going all-out. There's a trickle down impact that can actually be measured. Look at the power of the lowest cost card now compared to the same level of card 20 years ago. Enthusiast's money is an important driver for companies, if they couldn't rely on it, they would have fewer reasons to innovate.

Thanks kaap :D

So far only tested both cards on air and both are clocking 2076mhz which I am more than happy with, as my 1080's only clocked to around 2088mhz. Not touched the memory or voltage. Not had a chance to put the blocks + plates on yet but will be starting that tomorrow, possibly wednesday morning due to work.

Will probably spend tomorrow night doing a few benchmarks so i can compare my Ti's against my 1080's once installed.

Looking forward to getting these beasts in and underwater :D

Some user videos for you Kaap if you're still doing those, All done at 2560x1440P, Max settings and varying amounts of AA, All details in the video.

Nice, any feedback on how much further it allows the card to clock?

I won't be able to test now until the weekend. I think because of the way boost 3.0 works it won't allow for the clocks to go much higher, it may however give the GPU a boost when it want to pull more volts at lower clocks. You can test this for yourself by doing a benchmark run with default volts and the Afterburner OSD switched on to display when the voltage limit gets hit. When it does you will see 'VOLTAGE' flash up on the OSD, from what I have read this is when the voltage boost will help and provide better performance. You can do the same with the power limit.

You need to add TI to the description for the OC'ed Ti's :)

:o Whoops!

NP

Nice post radox, how much of a noise increase did you find on the oc after benching for a while?
It did increase a fair bit, partly to be expected, with this cooler IMO keeping it under at around 55% will give you a decent mix of noise and boost capability. Cranking it up another 15% or so to maintain the very high OC's is not worth it on this cooler.

I won't be able to test now until the weekend. Nice one and thanks for the info. I shall be getting my card tomorrow so will be able to try this out.

Tyler - Nice collection of cards and blocks. ;)

Radox - Thanks for posting all that up, there is hardly any 3440 x 1440 benchs about so what you have posted is most useful.

I dont know about anyone else but I am going to be kinda sad to see , 980Ti go as it has been an excellent card to own. I would put it up there with my BFG WC 8800GTX.

Just been told I wasted my money buying a 1080 Ti for 1440p. Why can't people just respect other's purchases. Some always feel it's necessary to try to make you feel you've wasted you money, or that you didn't spend enough!

Same, was gutted when I sold my 980 Ti Lightning.

I wouldnt worry about what anyone else thinks as long as your happy with your purchase thats all that matters.

As for the 980Ti at least I am not alone in being sad to see it go, its definitely lasted me allot longer than I thought it would and is very capable at 3440 x 1440. I'm really only upgrading as I cant resist a new gpu. :D

Tad long post, but thought I would share some benching I did most of today between 1080's and 1080Ti's both FE to see how they compare at stock and overclocked with a few Titan X Maxwell Scores sprinkled in.

Nice one, really appreciate this thanks mate. Really useful to see OC TX maxwell vs OC 1080ti
