Do you know how we can measure the power draw ourselves? I'm a bit scared to allow the full extra power in Wattman on my 850 PSU...

Remember that 850W is the power the PSU delivers, not the power it draws. Your 850W PSU operates at 87% efficiency at 100% utilisation so will draw a maximum of 977 Watts.

*shrug*
AMD cards historically get better over time as they dial in drivers so I'm expecting these in a year to be on level ground with the 1080Ti. Of course nVidia will have 11xx or 20xx whatever out by then but that's what progress does :p

I know that story, but it does not convince me. As said, there must be plenty of hate to nVidia ;-)

No haribo :( I think the last time I bought a Sapphire Radeon it was a 9700 Pro :D

To get on the Roll of Honour all you have to do is post a pic with your user name on it of your Vega 64.

Kinda odd they have a Windows 10 driver and a Windows 7 driver but no Windows 8 driver, especially as all three use the same driver lol.

didnt MS put a nail firmly in that coffin ? lol , I dont think Vega will set the trend off just yet Mining, but since NDA on the drivers lifted- I could be wrong but seems focus Is still on the 470 4GB which is good news for wanting Vega owners

yes state 7 seems to be super boost or something; the power settings being so aggressive on the custom plan seem to make it impossible to increase the clockspeed without butting into the power limit, any overclock on the core just fails silently and the performance actually goes down!

You missed me out... again (you did this to me on FuryX too :P )

How? Vista/7/8/10 all use the same base NT6 kernel, hence why you can use a Vista driver in 10 if your hardware is old and doesn't have a new release (or why you could use the W10 driver in Vista if you're hardwares too new to have a driver for it, but that's an odd situation to be in).

Anyway I just found it odd AMD had 7 and 10 drivers listed but no official 8 driver.

Ok this is strange..I'm just running some benches here with GPU-Z and wattman open. With my frequency percentage at 0% so default clock, my core is locked at 1630mhz. Ive just done 2 solid runs of heaven and the clock has not budged at all from 1630mhz. I can downlock/overclock it which I then see a difference in the reading, so I know the reading is correct ie the reading has not stuck at 1630mhz, but I thought this would throttle. Sitting at 83c (which I'm really not happy with) with a 2500rpm fixed fan speed for the benches.

Just a note, the card does 1700mhz on the clock dropping the voltage control to 1080mv :) going to be fun on water this thing :)
