The RX Vega 64 Owners Thread

Hope it works for you :)

The bios switch reduces power use even more. So if it's restarting in both modes, its definitely not overloading your PSU. Could be something wrong with one of the cables going into the card.

Have you tried the card in another PCIe slot? Might be worth doing if you are having problems after installing the new PSU.

B350-MA has single PCI-E slot... was only board I could get when Ryzen came out, The other odd thing is it was fine with an overclocked 1080ti, but power use even in low power mode isn't comparable!

Nice Tony. I wounder what 1700 on the core will read

:D

So, been playing around this morning looking at what the default Wattman profiles actually give us with standard Vega 64. That would be Power Saver, Balanced and Turbo. Just to see the difference in the clocks, temps and the amount of watts going to the wall socket. Got a small breakdown here if anyone interested. I don't understand why AMD recommend a 1000w PSU, absolutely bonkers if you ask me.

There's going to be a bit of randomness in the numbers, not sure all the sensors are reporting exacts at the moment, but I believe GPUz is to be trusted the most.

Power Saver (-25% power limit)
GPUz Core - 1200mhz (rough average)
Temp - 68c
Fan Speed - 2000rpm

Balanced (0% power limit)
GPUz Core - 1536mhz (rough average)
Temp - 78c
Fan Speed - 2400rpm

Turbo (+50% power limit)
GPUz Core - 1630mhz (rough average, did start to throttle at 85c)
Temp - 85c
Fan Speed - 2430rpm

DPD did their job finally, card received :)

Ohh yeah my baby's here.

Good news everyone, new Cosair RM650x arrived, just done a check, overclocked to 1712 / 1050, fully loaded CPU and GPU and played battlefield, solid - no restarts, perfect. So it seems my EVGA PSU can't even supply 360watts total system load (GPU low power mode) without issues, so I will be getting on to EVGA about this - pretty bad as it's only a few months old!

My bank refused the payments on Monday due to fraud prevention for the AIO sapphire Vega. Missed out.
Then again yesterday for the Powercolour AIO...bloody internet banking.

Checked stock at elsewhere today and they had the MSI Vega AIO.

This time it went through so DPD making the drop tomorrow.

Will replace my 'ageing gracefully' 290x vapour-x 8gb crossfire setup.
Looking forward get this new card in and working

That is good news :)

I just ran a Firestrike extreme on the v64 AIO with stock clocks, I put it to turbo mode which only chanhges the power target which is +25, balanced is stock and Power save is -25. I've included results from my stock Fury trix oc edition @ 1040/500, OC'd Fury @ 1150/550 and my 6gb 1060 @ 1936/2003 for comparison.

I see some are disappointed by the lack of accessories in the box. Driver disks have been anachronistic for a while - it's always better to download the latest drivers, and it's vanishingly rare to not have access to the internet (dodgy ISP reliability notwithstanding).

I'm not sure if it is the norm to ship with a monitor cable included these days; it used to be fine to ship with a VGA or DVI cable included as it was cheap to make a good enough quality cable and most people were going to use one or the other. I don't think there is clear ubiquity of DisplayPort on monitors yet (installed base) and many DP & HDMI cables are too poor quality to sustain reliable flicker-free operation at modern display data rates. I'd rather source my own quality cable rather than take a chance on something bundled.

Thanks for posting these up - I have a couple of power meters (same model as yours by the looks of it) and hope that a newish 600W Be Quiet will be OK. I have a while to wait though; I didn't get my order in early enough to snag an in-stock V64.
