i would probably go for the aorus too given the choice between the two as it looks like an extra years warranty on the aorus.

aorus Xtreme has the 4 year warranty, standard aorus has 3 years and £30 is worth it for the cooler design and quieter card.
If you going to watercool just get the G1

The Aorus I refer to is this one.

It's a little confusing because on the OC page it shows a 10Gpbs memory card... but boost clock is 1936Mhz... whilst another retailer has the extreme edition 11Gpbs memory but same boost clock of 1936Mhz. £10 more tho.

So you say the Aorus has a quieter cooler than the G1?

The one with the memory at 11Gpbs is the new revision of the 1080, one can only assume OCUK are still only selling revision 1 with the 10Gbps modules at the moment.

EVGA have free bio updates to "overclock" SC2 and FTW2 1080 cards to 11Gbps memory as well if its not been mentioned already in here.

For me, the choice was between the G1 and the Aorus. I've only had Gigabyte cards in the past so easy for me to stick.

Went for the G1 as it was cheapest and difference between the cards 2-3 fps according to some you tube research.

Aorus quieter and better option for the extreme overclocker. But I dont fall in that bracket.

My Gigabyte Gaming 1080 G1 turned up today (changed from an AMD Fury after seeing Vega). I have a freesync screen and have obviously noticed the difference in smoothness. Does anyone know the best vertical sync settings to use for games that vary framerate either side of the 75Hz standard of my screen?

Hope you are happy with the G1 I got the windforce non G1 edition but my son is very pleased with it, he did notice that it run hotter than the previous GTX780 but has only reached maximum 70 degrees and that's at 2K, with a Gsync monitor, all in all a good card and a good price too I think if you are just using the card for gaming then there's not a huge difference between them. What's important for me is a card that runs relatively quiet at a low temperatures and not too running to much watts from the wall.
