Post Your Daily Encounter Pics Here

Got offered a tour in this, sadly the price was obviously based on the colour of my skin so I passed. Looked rather nice though.

I normally hate these kinds of cars, but couldn’t think of anything better suited to the terrain in this instance. I’d quite like to try driving it around town.

But why would anyone want to pay a million for a car you don't actually own :p

You do own it & you can take it home... in fact, one or two owners of the FXX / FXXK do just that.

It's just... because it's a track-only car & because Ferrari are the only ones who maintain it and they put on such a good track experience & hospitality package to go with it (at an insane cost, not unlike the car itself and the many many millions you have to spend before you are invited to buy one)... and of course with a pretty high grip car like this, you want a proper inspection before and after each track day... most people decide to and can afford to leave it with Ferrari and have them maintain it.

So the lucky few just show up to the track, drive it for the day, then leave it there and drive home.

The logistics of towing your own car to and from track is a pain on its own, let alone the high maintenance levels required this this type of car and you'd also have the inconvenience of taking it to and from Ferrari to get it checked over... if you can afford it, then why not?

The only ones who take it home are probably the ones who have amazing glass garages so they can enjoy looking at it or just want to show it off...

The "you don't own it" thing started as a rumour just because it was funny...

That's the one that Clarkson slated and Musk lost his **** over the review. He also lost the court case. :D
And then lost the appeal as well.

Loved that story... and then Clarkson's later ****-take of it on The Grand Tour. Was a classic for me... Clarkson's brilliant at sticking the middle finger up in just the right way...

Musk's ******** and moaning about it in interviews and all over social media is hilarious (I don't like Musk very much... although I do appreciate the way he's helped develop electric technology).

So it is! Never seen one like that before, I love it :D

There’s loads of them in that particular town: the streets are very narrow and the only access roads are dirt / cobbled, so something small and narrow with off road ability is perfect. Normally the lack of AC would be an issue, but it rarely gets above 25c in Real de Catorce as it’s so high
up. I’d definitely have one if I lived there

One thing about poorer countries is their different choice of cars, I love it. Even in South Africa we have some of the coolest cars around, in most first world countries like here all we have is the newer stuff outside of enthusiast circles.

Agreed - it’s also amazing how they keep producing ancient cars for so long - you can still buy a 1992 Nissan Sentra brand new here.

I was actually thinking about going to S.A. next year (not just for the cars!) but recent news is putting me off a bit. I like going off the beaten track when on holiday, and whilst I’m not afraid of a bit of risk, I have quite enough opportunities to get killed over here without adding to them :p

Jeep made all sorts of things like that back in the 50s and 60s, not too many survive really.

I was at Haynes Breakfast Club this morning so saw all sorts of cool stuff, might stick a couple of them in here once I've edited my pics although I don't really count events as 'daily encounters'.
