Any reviews of this knocking about? Very tempted to upgrade from an MSI GeForce GTX 1070 ARMOR 8G OC - I wanna see how the two compare at 1440p.

I think 1080Ti is comfortably twice the performance of a 1070, others can confirm or correct me. :)

Not good enough for me yet! I will wait until they hit £500, and they are coming down incrementally. It's not that long ago we were being told they would not be discounted to this price and they have been. The RTX 2080 is still currently at £700 is latest generation and will hold its value, where the 1080Ti is obsolete and prices will begin to spiral. That's not to say the 1080Ti isn't a worthwhile buy, just not at this price - yet !

Whats the deal with Coil Whine on this Gigabyte card? I see a lot of reviews on other sites saying its bad for whine. Also what happens if you get a card with bad coil whine, can you return it?

I'm so tempted to get that £580 1080ti as an upgrade from my AMD R7/9 280. It would be with a 4770k at 4.4GHz and 8GB of RAM at 1080p 60Hz. I'm not too worried about the RAM (I've never seen it go over 7GB gaming at 1080p and its never stopped me hitting 60fps) but the processor.... and screen res? It would last me forever at 1080p :D

Really this should have been the pricing on release date of these 1080ti series cards.

Nvidia pulled the price increase trick on 1080 generation cards and now doubling down again with 2080 series.

Think the real reason the new series of 2080 cards is so expensive simply so they can slot it in above the already expensive 1080s and clear old stock 1080s without reducing the price that much (from 1080 original RRP)

That and basically people seem to be willing to pay anything for the latest and greatest....

I remember when the step down from the top end GPU would be between £200-£300. £300 is barely entry level now it seems.
