Sooooo, I have looked over this a few times and I don't think there's any glaring issues.
Also wouldn't like the price to go up any more (should be about $1000 when shopping around)

CPU = Ryzen R5 3600
MOBO = ASROCK X570M PRO4
GFX = Saphire Pulse 5700
MEM = G.SKILL TridentZ Series 32GB 3400mhz (4x8GB)
HDD = SAMSUNG 970 EVO PLUS M.2 2280 250GB
Case = Cooler Master MasterBox Q300L
Fans = 2x140mm

No need for peripherals and I'm also bringing my 750w PSU and 1x 2.5 SSD and 1x 3.5 HDD over from my old PC.

I read some reviews that the case might be a little warm, but with 2x140mm fans on the front and 1x120mm on the back, I think it'll be fine. I guess the Mobo has 3 fan headers?
Ummm....

So yeah.... what ya think?

You could save money by buying a B450 motherboard. The X570 is overkill for a R5 3600. Something like the msi B450 tomahawk max, would be good choice as it has bio flashback.

32gb of RAM is a lot just for gaming. I recommend spend the extra for a 500GB ssd instead of the 250GB. SSD prices have never been this good. And spend extra on a better case so you need to buy extra fans.

So save money on the mobo and RAM. Spend more on the case and maybe the SSD.

Well, I kinda want something upgradable and future-proof for as long as possible.
And going back to B450 (when I see people are having BIOS issues with R3000 CPUs) kinda puts me off a bit, and I guess X570 will be supported up to at least a couple more generations of CPU, so maybe I can put an R7 5700x in in 2 years ;)

The RAM is a sticking point tho. 32gb DOES sound like overkill.
Again, I don't want to short change myself or worry about finding matching sticks in the future.
I got 8GB in my current system and I thought that was amazing 6 years ago. Now on my PC, I'm constantly running at 85% RAM usage with all the tabs I have open and stuff.
Would I regret only getting 16gb in another 2 or 3 years? I dunno!

Not sure about this but next year may be the last year for AM4 as AMD said it will be supported to 2020 before changing sockets. It's had a good run and loads more life than a modern Intel socket and they have kept their promise so may be time for a new socket to bring further improvements. That being said you will be paying a big chunk more for a X570 board over a B450 board. Both are still supported until the end of AM4's life, there are even people running 3000 series cpu's in 1st gen boards!! Plenty of people are running B450 with 3000 series cpu's with no problems at all so I wouldn't be put off from buying one.

Re RAM - you wouldnt really need matching sticks down the line. As long as there the same clock speed your good to go. I did go for 32gb on my build, but its a music production PC primarily so Ill use it. If it were a gaming PC I would have gone with 16 for now.

Personally, I wouldnt bother with a 250 MNVe drive. I feel its a wast to use an M2 slot for such a small drive. For the OS theres very little difference between an SSD and an NMVe drive. Either stretch and get a bigger NVMe - or use you current drives (or even a really small 64MB SSD which is big enough for W10) until the PCIe 4 sticks are realistically priced.

^^much better card. Gaming 5700 OC non XT is also out, MRP is £375 and XT is £430-40 - then factor in 3 yr warranty vs 2

that Cooler master case is a bit of a hotbox !

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £85.49 (includes shipping: £10.50)

no idea why OCUK selling it quite high, maybe silverstone rep will have to look

@tamzzy can help you with the ram!!!!! crucial

Ok, some good stuff to think about there.
Still umm'ing and ahh'ing over the mobo chipset.
Maybe in 2021 I will want an R9 4950x or something on the cheap, and perhaps to do something with PCIE4. I just don't know, and would hate to have limited my options.
Gonna do some hard pondering on that !!

Perhaps I should go down to 16GB Ram and not be greedy. That seems an easier sell to me. AND saves 100 quid :D

As for the SSD. I'm seeing the SAMSUNG 970 EVO PLUS for about 60 quid, so don't really wanna save any money there and go cheaper :D

And finally, yeah, that Silverstone case looks pretty nice actually. Maybe I'll switch to that.

Sooooo.....
My if my list changed to...
CPU = 3600
MOBO = ASROCK X570M PRO4
GFX = Saphire Pulse 5700
MEM = G.SKILL TridentZ Series 16GB (2x8GB)
HDD = SAMSUNG 970 EVO PLUS M.2 2280 250GB
Case = Silverstone SST-PS15B-RGB

That would get me to about 850 Quid with the potential to go down to about 750 if switching to B450

^^change the GPU, specially if your paying £370-80 range. Gigabyte 5700 is the better card . see link provided from reviews .

if your willing to take the b450 hit, going MSI 450 Max, then you can move up to RX 5700XT range with will get the FPS !

silverstone at £65 odd with airflow is a beast

to be fair @tamzzy for crucial 32gb for £160 odd i believe , 3200hz clocked to 3600hz but that was using one of the BEST X570 boards .
16GB version should hit 3600hz on the MSI . (Larger the ram or more modules, more stress on the board. Budget B450 and X570 have low PCB layers etc, tamzzy ITX has 8 layers vs 4 of most entry boards etc)

and all depends on the games you play ! more mods added and texture packs then more ram is eaten up

AMD is also killing PCIe 4 support on non B550/X570 boards . no matter how much board vendors fight, AMD update their micro code and BOOM, its gone

Hmmm.... for the gfx card, I'm not that much of a PC gamer, so wouldn't need to go up to XT.
I'll be happy just keeping something that would give me medium amounts of oomph for the next few years. (around 340 quid for the Sapphire Pulse over here)
But I could investigate the Gigabyte too.

ah, just seen your location sorry. best check around with RMA and pricing I guess . Vgea 56/64 seems to be kicking around at nice prices - AMD tend to age well

Its not about being cheaper - its about the fact you only have 2 x M2 slots, and your tying one up for a small storage amount. If you need a small OS drive, you dont need NVMe - as the performance improvement over SSD is minimal for the OS. You can get a 64MB (Enough for W10) for about £12, or 128 MB for about £20. Nothing wrong with wanting an NVMe drive - but if your going to tie up that M2 slot - make it worth while and go 1TB at least (I went for 2 TB). The Corsair MP510 is about £150 for a 1TB, or £280 for 2TB..... Far more value for money.

So yeh - either go larger, or dont bother at all really.

Have actually started looking at the 500gb Corsair MP600 PCIe4.0 M.2 drive. :D

would personally push nvme 3.0 1tb for samish price and double the space . kick yourself when new controller launches and actaully pushes PCIe 4.0 to max speed> 7000/6000 MB/s

and will be double (100%) that over current fastest PCIe 3.0 nvme's - current drive only about 45% faster

For RAM, look for Crucial Ballistix Gaming Sport LT DDR4-3200 C16 with "AES" in the model number, which means it's Micron E-die. Reasonably priced and works well with 3rd gen Ryzen. 16GB or 32GB, up to you.
