ASUS AMD NAVI 5700 AT £249 & 5700 XT AT £299 WITH FREE GAMES, CASHBACK BF OFFER, DETAILS INSIDE!!!

If they truly intended to sell cards at the advertised prices, then they'd sell cards at the advertised prices. What with BS scams like this, and pre-ordering when will people ever learn?

I'm not gonna lie, the whole thing has left a sour taste in my mouth, especially after referring a mate last year who bought a full system.

I was looking at doing a brand new ryzen build later this year, but just going to second hand it all now.

I logged a ticket with Asus over the £40 cashback, sucks that they are cheaper now without any cashback faff in the 20 year sale (and the fact that due to Cyberpunk being delayed I don't actually have much use for it until later this year).

Oh well, caveat emptor.

If you read the terms it states that the £40 cashback is normally made in 90 'working' days....there's the caveat people are missing.

After purchasing on 2nd Dec 2019 the 90 working days puts me up to 9th April.

Sure with hindsight we could have waited and picked up the card for a similar price as of last week or so...but I've had almost 3 months of enjoyment from the card and eventually the cashback will be paid so no qualms for now.

Asus came back to me saying they can see my claim and it will be paid within 90 days, so sometime in May perhaps, lol.

Still not a peep on the review aspect, but I'll just take it as a lesson learnt and not fall for marketing again :p

Hopefully there's a fair few people who have read this thread and others like it, and aren't going to be taken in by legalized cons like this one.

The offer was genuine and the price was genuine then they'd save themselves the internal admin and simply price GPU's as such.

It's also rip-off ASUS whose customer service is utter trash so I knew there would be issues and people would be ripped off.

I’ve received the 25 pound cash back (the review site one) and still waiting on the 40 pound cash back one which they have said is on the way ‍♂️

I emailed Asus recently about this promotion and this is the response I had.

"Your claim has been approved. Unfortunately, due to the high level of participation, there are some delays in the process. We will, however, make every effort to ensure that you receive your cashback as soon as possible.

Please note that the payment will be executed by the agency ninepoint consulting GmbH.

We ask for your patience."

I was expecting the rebate/refund to be applied after their quoted 90 working days which would have been earlier this month for me.

Received cashback today. Thought it was a spam email at first due to the email title "ninepoint consulting GmbH has sent you money"

Registered for the cashback promotion on 09/12/2019 so that's 156 days ago, or 107 working days. A little longer than their terms and conditions stated (expected 90 working days).

Looks like companies have pushed this sort of marketing as far as it can go.

These cashback deals only work when a percentage of those who buy the product claim the cashback. The cashback funds allocated and the processing capacity is geared towards this percentage and so any delays point to the offer being 'over-subscribed' from the offering company's perspective.

The Ts&Cs are created in such a way as to be more hassle than it's worth or within such a timeframe that the offer is forgotten. The amnesia angle is both in terms of when you can apply (you forget to actually apply) and the window for receiving funds (it is hoped you forget to chase your payment).

It is also a sneaky way of hiding the fact the advertised price is either too high or the sales price has in effect come down. The sales are reported as revenue but the discounts come off the profit. These discounts can be hidden in operating costs and other mechanisms.

It was mentioned above that this is a scam....it is a scam on more levels than it first appears.

A big company like asus making money hand over fist taking that long is pretty laughable.

An additional 17 working days in the middle of a pandemic isn't exactly that bad. Companies will hold off on cashback as long as possible. If they had a £1mil total to pay out holding it in bank and gaining extra interest for 4-6 months covers some of the claims
