Poll: What resolution do you game at and why?

Used to run 2560x1440 144hz IPS, now on a 3440x1440 144hz IPS panel and can never look back. Ultrawide is the way games are meant to be played.
Old monitor: Asus ROG Swift PG279Q - It was great, but the panel was washed out and the darks were not great
New panel: LG 34GN850-B - MUCH better colours and blacks, absolutely sublime monitor.

1440p144hz adaptive sync, been running it for about 3 years. The absolute sweetspot and has been for a few years. Nice IQ and also fairly easy to run over 100fps even on midrange gpus.

Whatever res gets me a nice balance of quality and performance. I have a 4K monitor but sometimes have to use 1440P or 1080P because my hardware hasnt been high end for a good 5 years.

I game at 1440p 144Hz G-sync. For strategy games I generally limit my framerate to 60 to keep my GPU quiet but for faster paced games I leave it unlimited (but my 1070ti rarely if ever hits 144fps)

A good poll would be what refresh rate and resolution will you be moving to in the next 6 months

1440p and as many frames possible with all the bells and whistles turned on. My 1080Ti mostly manages higher than 60fps, and playing Doom eternal has it pegged at 144fps 
To answer the question above.. I won't be moving to any different any time soon, I'll be upgraded the gpu to improve the visuals, not up the resolution and sacrifice fps.

1080p at 120Hz - will get around to upgrading for 1440p at some point.

4K60 because at 55" you need all pixels you can get, though I do turn it down to 1440p 120hz for some games like Division 2 etc. I'm all about immersion so screen quality & screen size are most important, hence a TV. Wouldn't mind going even bigger tbh!

When I upgraded my monitor a couple of years ago, I was considering 4K, but it didn't seem to be worth it unless you had a large monitor, and it would mean a more money on hardware to drive games at that resolution. A higher refresh rate for smoother gameplay was higher on the priority list for me. Don't regret it so far.

I'm not sure that kind of gpu performance is going to be around any time soon for AAA titles. We can live in hope tho
