Testing kicks off tomorrow! Time to read the tea leaves and squint into the future! Time to wildly over-interpret Doohan's blistering first morning time, and declare Hamilton/Norris/Alonso/Max is washed based on a Thursday afternoon where they finish 18th!

The tyre choices are interesting:

Not sure what value Aston expect to get from running Inters in Bahrain?

They were talking to Crofty, rain is expected towards the end of the sessions

(Though in fairness, some weather sites are forecasting a reasonable chance of rain on the 26th :p)

Doohans already P1 on the harder tyres whilst others have ran mediums, nearly 2 seconds faster.

2026 champion confirmed.

How long does the OCUK F1 big brains give Liam Lawson if he can’t get close to Max on Saturday and can’t stick with him as wingman on Sunday?

Well done sky sports, think my work rate might be limited today lol

Williams looks stable but doesn't look as innovative as a number of the other cars. Though simplicity could well work in their favour and mean the car is less peaky.i

I think the issue is here they havnt got another driver that's good enough, hadjar on paper doesn't seem like he's going to be great, surprised they've put him in looking at his record.

Tsunoda? They've already said he isn't good enough, though he could change their mind, but don't think tsunoda is mentally able to deal with max and his dad

Driver lineup for today, according to The Race:

Wednesday am line-up

McLaren: Oscar Piastri
Ferrari: Lewis Hamilton
Red Bull: Liam Lawson
Mercedes: Kimi Antonelli
Aston Martin: Fernando Alonso
Alpine: Jack Doohan
Haas: Ollie Bearman
Racing Bulls: Yuki Tsunoda
Williams: Alex Albon
Sauber: Nico Hulkenberg

Wednesday pm line-up

McLaren: Lando Norris
Ferrari: Charles Leclerc
Red Bull: Max Verstappen
Mercedes: George Russell
Aston Martin: Lance Stroll
Alpine: Pierre Gasly
Haas: Esteban Ocon
Racing Bulls: Isack Hadjar
Williams: Carlos Sainz
Sauber: Gabriel Bortoleto

So every driver getting a run today. In previous years some of the teams have favoured giving each driver a whole day, but doesn't look like anyone is doing that this year.

Well, it would be disappointing if this place didn't remain entirely on-brand wouldn't it? :D

They'd probably have to throw a rookie in that seat with zero expectation. He'll bend the knee, at least for the first year, and maybe be able to grow into the car.

Only other option is someone like Alonso or Sainz if they want to put more focus on the WCC.

I think he'll be okay for a season, mostly likely for two given the drivers in the Racing Bull. That seat is marked for Lindblad eventually though, so I wouldn't be too surprised to see Hadjar out on his ear for Horner's golden boy if he doesn't impress. That said, I'm expecting Lawson to be much closer to Max.

When things get really interesting is if Max walks - which is looking more likely than ever - and they have to find someone to replace him. I can't see any of Tsunoda, Lawson, and Hadjar getting put into that role.

Time for some knee-jerk predictions because as we all know, testing is important!

Who is the champion elect? Who is washed? Who's season is over before Day 2 of testing even begins?

Anyone know if there is a site listing every lap time through the days, and showing run lengths and tyres, etc. like there were in some previous seasons? Or has F1M stamped down on all that?

Who is the champion elect? Who is washed? Who's season is over before Day 2 of testing even begins?

Patience, man! We can't do that until we've see at least half an hour from the afternoon set of drivers.

Williams have kept the exact same monocoque as last year, so their car is very much an evolution

Kimi Antonelli hype intensifies. He's going to do what McLaren idiocy stopped Hamilton doing, and win his first season! You read it here first!
