Greenlizard0 Premier League Football Thread ** spoilers ** [6th - 8th December 2025]

That was ******* awful, a robbery on our part.

Babis looks a talent at least from his small cameos.

Huge match tonight, could be season defining.

So we have a chance to go join 5th which is far more than we deserve. Coupled with the fact that Wolves have only 2 points the conditions are perfect for another shaky draw or a loss.

A win here should be absolutely routine. A loss here could turn the fans on Amorim but lets be honest, that probably won't matter. We will scab a few results and the fans will talk about corners and turning until the next "crisis".

You just know we're going to lose. We lose every match that we're "expected" to win.

In fairness, the wheels fell off under Ole, he got criticised for being too defensive and relying on individual moments. EtH had us losing in ridiculous fashion and conceding a lot. At some point you have to ask how much of it is on the manager and how much is on the players.

And also, what superstar, generational talent manager is out there who can turn this around? It's going to take time whoever it is.

It doesn't take a generational managerial talent. We should be looking at incremental improvement at this point. Lets steal Alonso when hes fired in a few weeks. Give him the rest of the season and see what happens. Might at least be fun.

I don't understand the idea that we have to accept absolute crap else we are expecting wonders. There is a place where our manager adds something to the team.

I'm actually upbeat these days! I think with a fully fit front 3 we will finish top 10.

Thats depressing in itself if top 10 is "upbeat" :(

The difference is that I don't believe the team are much better than that.

Alonso is another "unproven in the EPL" manager.

I don't think Amorim is immune but I don't think it is that easy to turn this club around either. Unless the next manager brings some midfielders with him?

Not sure what these "midfielders" you talk about are. Defenders and attackers. Thats what you need. More attack. More defence.
