***The Official OcUK Lego Thread***

I'd completely forgot I had a half finished Defender I the loft that got put up there a while ago when I was really busy with work. Thought I best get on with it before Santa brings me some more :D

So. I am near finished collecting the Speed Champions F1 cars. Such fun builds, each one being different in a few ways. Either the initial chassis build, or the engine, or the big side air intake thingies. Fun to put together. Anyway, I am looking at mounting on MDF and putting on a wall. I see many ideas having them mounted vertical on a Grid style backing, however, I am looking to mount sideways and instead of a grid, I would be looking at a First corner type design. Yas Marina is one of my favourite tracks from playing Forza, F1 games as its bloody cool at night with all the blue, pink/purple lighting. I am thinking of creating the first corner and incorporating the lighting from behind the mounting board. The MDF will be painted like a track with the Yas Marina blue lines and the turquoise first corner run off. Thats the plan, unless you guys gould give me ideas of a colourful track section of any other F1 tracks. The down hill/uphill section on Spa with the red and yellow paint on the left side would look cool. Ideas welcome.

Got K2-SO from my family for my Birthday today. My daughter actually pre-ordered it and had here since August and I didn't have a clue. She learnt from the best present smuggler... me :p.

Just finished my Harry Potter Book Nook, very happy with it. Just need to decde where and how I'm going to place it.

I've got Diagon Alley to build over Xmas as a family activity, that should take a while.

What's the secondhand market like currently for Lego? I'm 'considering' selling off what I have, it all its up on the in loft on display but tbh there's just too much of it and can't see myself rebuilding any off it anytime soon.

Not sold any lego but if I buy second hand it is from this place, I found the prices fair there. Others might have other opinions though.

in my experience, demand is well down on the pandemic highs but that’s similar across the board for used goods.

It depends on what your local buy/sell market is like and whether you are willing to post or not.

Some stuff still fetches decent prices like genuinely rare sets but a lot doesn’t.

What do people do with their GWP's? I still have two from last year, the retro record player and the Winter train set as well as the new GWP's I got with the D, the Hot Chocolate stand and the mini knight's castle and the unique Shuttle too.
I kept the shuttle and gave the castle and hot chocolate stand to the local charity shop.

Finished K2-SO, really enjoyed the build and it looks great. I forgot how tall it is, as I haven't seen it in the shop display since release. Will have to make space on my shelf above my desk. He can have Chip and Dale at his feet.
