The Liverpool Club Thread. **No Spoilers** *New Sponsors, Comedy Central!*

I can easily see him going to Saudi. It's very close to his home country, so much easier for him to see his family regularly. They share the same religion and the salary he'll be offered to top off his career will be ridiculous.

Well he's not travelling to Inter and I'd be surprised to see him at Anfield at the weekend either. The Club have drawn their line in the sand and do hold all the cards in terms of contract.
Salah has again put the pressure back on the club/slot, by announcing that he has invited his parents to the game on Saturday. These days he plays better mind games than football.

IMO, definitely won't play for liverpool after Sat, entirely possibly he has already played his last game.

I highly doubt Salah inviting his family puts any pressure on Slot, if Slot feels pressure to get him involved then he should walk away from the club now tbh.

I don't think Slot will feel the pressure, he and the club both know that no matter what Salah says, doesn't determine whether he gets in the team, it's more likely to get him not picked as it's been proven and possibly sold. If a Saudi club come in with a £50million offer for a 33 year old who is at the end of his top flight career, any club would be mad to not accept.

Would they like him back playing well (as well as many of the team)? Absolutely, but player power is at a premium now, but it should never be at the detriment to the team as the team will be around long after Salah has left and has happened with many great players of years gone by. I hope it gets settled sooner rather than later, but I can't see it being a happy ending for Mo. A great player, but I think he's got this wrong.

I actually think Salah could be unintentionally doing Slot a favour here, he's been rubbish lately and that isn't just down to Slot.

Now they can kick him out of the squad and focus on the players that aren't huge drama queens.

My prediction is that Salah will play at Anfield against Brighton and that he will score and then at the end of the match he will linger on the pitch and give a farewell to the fans and that will be his final game in a Liverpool shirt.

Unless someone stumps up the cash he could be doing a Martinez from Villa.

In other news, away from Salah. It definitely looks like Elliott will be coming back at the end of the season and Villa are doing everything they can, or specifically Emery is, to not have to compulsory purchase him. (I don't think Emery wanted him anyway)

Emery said: “I have spoken with him two or three times about the situation we have with him.

“Firstly, my decision and also the situation. He is on loan playing with us, but he is not definitely adding to us with a permanent contract.”

That last sentence says it all, he'll be back in July unless by some miracle he plays 5 more games for them or another club wants to buy him.

After today's meeting between Salah and Slot, do people think Salah will;

  • Start the game against Brighton
  • Be a substitute against Brighton
  • Not even be in the squad
  • On social media saying his goodbyes

I know Paul Merson isn't the sharpest tool in the box, but he's making the PTFE tape look positively deadly with his comments. :D

Tbh I’m half expecting him to be in the starting 11 vs us, and then playing terribly. Whilst bad for us, I do hope that your club hold firm and not let a player dictate things as it’s bad for everyone.

Should bring Elliott back and put him in the team, cant be any worse than most of the players have been so far this season
