Online coffee beans retailer

Had another 2 bags from Kofra recently. Both were bags of Joy. Possibly my favourite and most consistent coffee of the last year or so.
Also have some Square Mile and Nude coffee underway. Still got my free Square Mile subscription going which is lovely, and once the 10 years expires I'll probably start paying for it.

But it's time to start thinking about the christmas coffee situation. Will be away for a few days and will be chief coffee supplier for that time with the parental units. Thinking about more Joy from Kofra, but also a single origin or two from 92° coffee. As I'll be in town mgith get some Strangers too. Although Alex is far too keen on naturally processed coffee.

They actually use some pretty decent roasters on their rotation so can be worth a go, but your mileage will vary depending on who you get each month.

I dont use beanz but have had good coffees from the following that they resell: Workshop, neighbourhood, square mile, ozone, origin, dark woods, caravan, assemble and Climpson & Sons.

Would be worth checking the discounted price Vs the direct, but imagine it's somewhat obscured.

NB - I do have a professional link to beanz so should declare a slight bias, but as say I don't use them.

Just using local ones myself, loads in Bristol. Right now been getting roasters choice sub from triple co coffee.

Have tried Rave and some others, but reasonably happy with this at 9.99 and lasts me two weeks.

Have you had blind owl? We used to get their beans when we lived in brizzle, their Colombia roast is absolutely banging, both v60 and espresso. Genuinely one of my favourite coffees all round so I get that whenever it's in season.

I just notice my local deli sells beans CHEAPER than direct from the roasters on their own website!

I bought a bag of this for £7 this weekend and its £8 on their site.

Was in Notts the other day and stopped in at Effy as usual....the oat flat white I had was really distinctive....had to ask what it was....it's a collab with Dak roasters in Amsterdam. Co-fermented with cardamon, cinnamon and orange.....bloody lovely. Not an overpowering 'christmas spice' type drink, just some subtle spice coming through, on top of the excellent coffee. £24 for 260g mind.

Effy is amazing, best coffee shop I've ever been to, absolutely immaculately dialled in and served, and these expensive speciality coffees they just serve up as their house beans and vary it constantly.

https://www.dakcoffeeroasters.com/shop for their beans, although you can't get this one online.

Decades ago I thought "flavoured" coffee was good, but they quickly become a novelty for me, like after 2 cups. I just want coffee to taste like coffee and then able to make it into the taste that i want.

Is on my radar but they charge fortune for delivery so wasn't viable for routine ordering. I'll get down there eventually to pickup a bag I'm sure

Used to have their subscription but much prefer Wogans. Been enjoying Yallah's recently as well

My new office is now within a few minutes of Clifton Coffee Roasters but it seems you need to pre-order and collect rather than walk in and have a look at what they've got. I loved the pic and mix feeling of the Wogan's store.

There's a youtuber who's videos I sometimes watch called Coffee Kev who roasts his own coffee called cworks. I've ordered 1kg of his house blend called Chocolate Brownie. Don't think they've been mentioned in here before so will see what it's like when it arrives, which will hopefully be tomorrow.

He posts discount codes on his socials if anyone wants to give them a go too.

I do wonder if I should venture about. I have a duo bi-weekly subscription to Coffee Factory. Nothing wrong with them as they send through random selections, is there another one to try?

Done Hasbean and went off their coffee.

Got a bag of theirs for Christmas along with Pact Bourbon Cream Espresso and 2 bags from my usual Belfast Coffee Company (Festive and Salmon of Knowledge blends).

Should keep you going awhile. The Belfast festive blend theming looks to have taken some inspiration from Star Wars to me.

Looking for more local options (Essex), I found a place sourcing and roasting beans in Burnham on Crouch and they’re probably the best I’ve ordered to home to date.

I chose the Indonesia Bali Kintamani Natural Organic linked below and it’s roasted really nicely and gives lots of delicious flavour. I’d describe it as almost floral and fruity and the espresso was lovely and thick and rich with no detectable bitterness which makes the whole cup very enjoyable. Great espresso and great with milk in longer drinks. Worth a try I think.

Lalico Coffee

Another Essex Roaster:

Their roastery is on the Temple farm estate just outside Southend, Limited opening hours. The head roaster will bag up whatever is available fresh if there are none already bagged up. They have a Coffee shop in Leigh broadway which I've been to a few times, it has a good choice of filter brew hardware too. It can get busy though.
