Why are Evri are so absolutely abysmal?

This makes a huge difference to the actual final delivery.

The problem is, that even if you've got a good "final mile" driver, the regional hubs seem to be worse on average than anyone else, at least in my experience. Having said that RM seem to be chasing Evri for that title, it's currently 50/50 (and has been for at least a year) if a parcel will arrive from our local RM DO at a normal time, or from the next town over at something like 6pm on a sunday.

That is correct. We actually had this happen this year.

My partner ordered an item from a retailer one day and then she decided she wanted another the next day.

One was sent with RM and the other with EVRI. Both arrived in identical boxes, but the RM one looked fully intact while the EVRI one looked like it was used as a football at their yard.

If I'm buying off the 'bay then I also choose Argos collection, I'm one of the lucky ones who still have a standalone Argos store in their town and it's always empty so straight in and out job when collecting.

Last time I tried that the seller cancelled my order as apparently "there's too much fraud in your area relating to Argos collection". Seemed very specific and smelt of bull so I just ordered from another seller.

I did have one item refused once because the seller hadn't included the code in the address and had just put my name as c/o of Argos lol

Never had issue with Evri had many deliveries always delivered on the day and around the same time local delivery guy is very good but the last delivery was from different guy ordered phone charger he just tapped the door and left it outside door step can be seen clearly by anyone walking past I have camera doorbell for some reason he was about to ring the doorbell but decided not too

my Evri driver didn't knock my door, just dropped it on the doorstep. i only knew it was there when i got an email saying it was delivered
i mean the bare minimum should be to knock the door then walk off

Had the first interaction with our local Evri driver today, was surprised to find out that he doesn't speak English bar a few heavily accented and hard to understand words. So a.) how can Evri employ him if he doesn't speak the language, b.) what about his DBS check, are they not required for delivery drivers anymore or is that another area where Evri don't seem to give a **** and c.) how can he hold a driving licence if he can't speak English?

We also have delivery drivers who can't speak Dutch or English and it doesn't offer up any problems at all.

"Pakketje, handtekenen, dag" - What more would a delivery driver need?

Got a parcel due today between 1530 and 1730.

Just received this email at 1708

Good Morning

My name is Emma, I work in the Customer Service team at your local depot and have noticed your parcel(s) haven't been delivered in the intended time window.

The courier is running a little behind but your parcel(s) are still due for delivery today.

Kind Regards,
Emma

First time I've ever had that (especially as it's not yet late), do we think they're trying to keep people happy after the recent bad press

Sorry to say it, but our Evri guy is amazing. Lives in the village, posts on our facebook page. Never has to buy a pint in the local. He's like the old postie* from 20 years ago.

*but we know our postie and dpd driver actually. Gave them a christmas gift etc. Worth their weigh in gold.

Never had an issue with Evri until recently, had to complain 3 times as the drivers(assuming its the same one) just dumps the parcel at the gate rather than ringing the buzzer..

Oddly a day after I gave a 1 star rating, I had a random guy in a Fiesta show up at 2am ringing the buzzer. Ignored it as I thought obviously the wrong address but then I thought.. maybe I’ve got the bloke sacked :D Highly doubt its related but you never know.

Not sure what's changed recently but the last 8-10 parcels have all been thrown over the fence or left outside the front door, sometimes a knock but usually nothing.

They don't care if it's chucking it down or anything, over the fence it goes or on the doorstep. Regardless of if any cars are home or not.

Had about 3-4 different drivers all doing the same. It's rife at the minute. I'd love to just not use them but almost everyone I order from uses Evri without choice... Even eBay 90% of the time.

I've had almost every parcel delivered but i wouldn't choose them as a courier. I only know it has been delivered when i get a notification on the phone as they just put it on the doorstep and run.
The only hassle i've had is sending a psu back to Bequiet in Germany, it never got delivered and is allegedly being sent back to me - 5 months after i sent it.
It's impossible to get anyone in customer service to deal with it, their bot sends you in circles just like on the phone and the app.
The only way to get a response it seems is to write DAMAGE TO PROPERTY to the bot. The couriers should be getting paid better when they announced 120 million in profit, then they might have better deliveries.

ive had a couple of things just get lost by evri in the last month - the tracking just 'stopped'.
Got my money back but they are useless.
