The last game you completed, and rating.

BL4. Finally got to UVH5, which was stupidly difficult BTW, single VH at level 50, and I think I’m finally done with the game.

Don’t fancy doing the same again with the other VH’s as it was already getting repetitive.

A solid 8.5/10 from me. Still yet to see a single phosphine drop or whatever they’re called, which was disappointing. I’m not one to spend 10 hours killing the same boss repeatedly, perhaps I’m not their intended player type but I enjoyed the game nonetheless.

May come back if the DLC is any good, other than that I’m going to have to flip a coin between the new Dying Light game and BF6 for my next fix.

Richard Burns Rally in VR, completed rally school and the first full season in career. 8-9/10 for a VR game, graphics look like many modern VR specific games (VTOL VR etc) and the original stages aged really well too (imo they look better than 90% of the numerous mod stages). Physics are sublime, driving is very different to standard track focused games. Some of the bumpy straights, jumps and drops are absolutely epic.

Ghost of Tsushima 9/10

What a brilliant game!

At first I was a little disappointed as I didn't realise how similar it was to Assassin's Creed and once I started seeing those bandit (Mongol) camps requiring liberating and all that jazz I groaned and almost started regretting my decision to play it.
After a while though, the story had me hooked and once I started upgrading my skills the combat became really fun and rewarding.
The game respects your time also - I did feel compelled to do some side stuff in the 1st half of the game in order to level up my skills a bit but in the latter parts of the game I had no issue just ploughing through the main quests without feeling underpowered or like I was missing out.
Graphics are superb as expected from all the praise it gets in this area; the only area where it shows its age is with the lighting, particularly indoors where characters seem to glow, but overall it is stunning.
Protagonist is a really likeable dude and I enjoyed playing as him and living out the Japanese Samurai fantasy.
Has one of the most satisfying and well staged endings to a game too; certainly won't forget that one.

Ghost of Tsushima 9/10
Great story, with amazing graphics and atmosphere. Can be a bit easy as you level up to the top but still enjoyed it, recently played assassin's creed origins, odyssey and Valhalla and felt it similar but better and more structured than those. Did all the additional quests, not the collections, and roughly 50 hours for me. Can highly recommend it and hope we get Yotei on pc.

Really is fantastic. Has proper sucked me in.

Hades 2: 9.5/10

I've rolled credits on it. I know there is still more to be found after that point, but I'd beaten enough runs that I think I need to give the game a break. It's obviously fantastic - lavish, highly polished and beautiful to look at. It's also maybe just a little bit too familiar compared to the first game. I was slightly surprised it beat some titles I thought took more interesting design decisions in the "Best Action Game" category at the Game Awards.

Solasta - 7/10

Just finished off the last bit. Most of the game was good fun, though the constant loading screens are a bit annoying at times... you'd think it was a Bethesda game with how often you have to load just to go into a one or two room dungeon.
Some of the voice acting let it down a bit and the ending was a bit anticlimactic. Not too bad though for a 28 hour RPG.

Now to decide what to play next...

COD MW1 2019 SP campaign: 8/10
COD MW2 2022 SP campaign: 8/10
COD MW3 2023 SP campaign: 7/10
Hitman Absolution: 5.5/10

As Dusk Falls

8.5/10

Played many games from this category now, and this sticks out with some of the much better writing/storytelling. Quite long too.

Still Wakes the Deep. Great experience, not much of a game but a horror walking simulator. Some little puzzles but nothing taxing. Great suspense with brilliant voice acting and visuals.

8/10 but only because of its short length and very linear. Very enjoyable though.

Jedi Survivor - 7/10 (was 9/10 earlier on) man this game was ruined so much for me in the later half as its just platforming for platforming sake that annoyed the hell out of me as you spent 80%+ time doing that and a small amount of time actually fighting

Subnautica

Gamplay was great, I loved how the story was not thrown at you, and you had to find it via exploring, it was a refreshing game and I enjoyed it. Got 100% achievements for it. Games are not complete till you get 100% achievements.

9/10 for me.

Indiana Jones and the Golden Circle. 5/10.

Fantastic game... If it wasn't for several game-breaking bugs:

1. The first one I hit was in the Thailand level where your boat and Gina inexplicably disappeared. You can power through by swimming around instead, but it made this level mind-numbingly slow. Had to restart the entire mission as I wasn't about to spend 45m swimming around in slow motion
2. Second bug I hit was, after finally getting the boat to respawn, the boat got clipped in a ceiling of all places and you can't proceed. Restarted level once again, wasting about an hour of what was fast becoming work, not playing
3. I picked up the game last month again figuring these inexcusable bugs would have been fixed -- nope. When I finally got to the point where you fight the giant snake, the tridents you need to kill the snake wouldn't respawn. Another restarted level. By this point I was angry I'd spent money on this game.

All and all, I love this game's potential. But ultimately, I hated the experience. I've never seen a game this polished have such horrible bugs.

Apart from a very short spell on Knights of the Old Republic some ~20 years ago, I don't believe I've ever played a Star Wars game.
What's the go-to ones these days (single-player campaign)? I'm assuming it's either Jedi Survivor, Outlaws or Fallen Order? Ta. :)

Fallen Order and Jedi Survivor are the better ones. Outlaws was terrible. The old KOTOR games (both) are probably still the best Star Wars games you can play. There are so many mods available for them now.

That's really weird. I had no bugs at all with that game. Did you buy a Chinese copy, hence the 'Golden' Circle? :p

Batman: Arkham Asylum - 9/10

Never been a huge Batman fan but loved this game at launch. It's even better now with the addition of graphical mods and 4k cutscenes. :D
