Hopefully they're clearing out the rackmount gateways so they can launch something with 4 or more SFP+ interfaces on and some 2.5Gb copper.

I'd hope that is the case for it is sorely lacking 2.5GbE, having a single port is not optimal these days. Would be nice for them to upgrade the NVR in-built option to a dual bay+cache with actual NAS functions as well. I can ask our disti(s) what is on clearance but not working until new year now.

Oooh, just had a shipping notification
Mine arrived yesterday, although my son thought it’d be good to wrap them up until Xmas.. not because he is thinking of extra prezzies, they are all conspiring because they don’t want me having any accidents on ladders 30ft up in the air… bless them.. :D

Ubiquiti is a solid reminder that you should buy equipment based on the feature set that exists at the time of purchase, never on the promise of future updates. A lot of the noise around this historically came from people buying expensive early access hardware and then being upset when it never turned into a supported product, which was misunderstanding what early access was about.

Apologies in advance for this question, but i've been googling and cannot for the life of me find a straight forward guide, and i'm sure that should exist

I've got a Dream Machine SE, and want to set a Smart DNS at the router level, but ONLY for specific devices or domains. Ideally domains would be better as then it doesn't matter the device and should be easier to manage. The other option is to setup a VPN through Unifi for specific domains. However i'd prefer the Smart DNS option for performance reasons

Effective use case is to watch BBC/ITV from abroad. We currently have the VPN configured on an Nvidia shield, but it can be a bit hit and miss.
