Double check it's covered in your coverage doc. You'd be surprised how many people think that they have windscreen cover because they have a fully comp policy, not realising it's now separate on most policies. It is but wanted to see what it was before chasing up with excess being £500 & whether it will affect NCB. Technically should be declared at renewal thoughIt usually has its own excess and doesn't affect NCB.

Result. Try and push for OEM windscreen, but YMMVThanks all,
Checked with insurance & all covered, appointment booked at local Auto Windscreen branch, less than 2 miles from home.
Cost of £200 with no adverse affect on NCB

Especially if you have a HUD as, I believe anyway, it won't work with standard glass, it needs something different AFAIK.Result. Try and push for OEM windscreen, but YMMV
I'll be sure to discuss that when I speak to the fitting centre.Especially if you have a HUD as, I believe anyway, it won't work with standard glass, it needs something different AFAIK.
Odd question, but on the F80 M4, once you park and turn the engine off, the stereo and a lot of the electrics stay on until you get out and lock the doors.
How long does this all stay on for if you sit in the car, and wouldn’t this drain the battery after a short time?
On my F36 it's around ten minutes when it will prompt you on the screen that it's powering down but you can turn it back on when it does so.Odd question, but on the F80 M4, once you park and turn the engine off, the stereo and a lot of the electrics stay on until you get out and lock the doors.

Why are you in the car, presumably you want the electrics to still be working? You can press the ignition again to force it to turn off.
Pondering on a ZF8 transmission fluid change once the car hits 60-65k at an indie which is a specalist ZF8 transmission service centre
I understand that the procedure should be around £300-500 to complete as far as i can see
I very often pull up whilst on a call, park the car, but it doesn’t turn off so I don’t switch to talking on my mobile whilst I sit in the car to finish the call.
You can code it to turn off immediately once the driver's door is opened. I have done this on mine.Odd question, but on the F80 M4, once you park and turn the engine off, the stereo and a lot of the electrics stay on until you get out and lock the doors.

Our F60 Countryman is the same, and even going back as far as my R56 Mini is similar (it also turns off sooner if it thinks the battery is getting too low and shows a warning on the dash before it turns off)On my F36 it's around ten minutes when it will prompt you on the screen that it's powering down but you can turn it back on when it does so.
Does that price include scanning it afterwards? Or are you going to do that yourself to save some money?
