Yeah. Direct from Ican. They were great over email. The newer Grado frame looks great too.

Lightcarbon seem good value and are getting decent reviews too but I’ve not used them. Although did come very close recently.

there are cheaper ones like Airwolf which are around£400 or so but can’t comment on them.

Ican are more high end and comparable to the likes of a Trek/Specialised frames costing £2500 or so. so technically cheap even if not cheap cheap.

Took the Giant with me out to Tuscany last week and rode around Siena doing the majroity of the sectors from L'Eroica or Strade Bianche. Lots of climbing, some dubious route choices by Komoot, but a good weekend.

Bike was fantastic, although the tyres I used were Terreno Mix in 50mm, and weren't the best for the loose stuff, although they'll probably be good round here with a bit more mud, having the suspension certainly helped, did an 80mile ride on the Thursday and although tired in the legs, my body felt absolutely fine considering about half of that distance was off road. Shifting was a bit off all week, so reckon the mech hanger has got bent in transit on the way out annoyingly.

Yeah, but it's still got hanger as you can adjust the length of the wheelbase to allow bigger tyres to be installed or having more nimbleness.

Would have preffered the orange of the lower model. got the mech hanger tool on earlier, slight bit of misalignment, although i've never used one before, so will see how it rides later.

One of the most annoying things about bikes the various colours per level. I quite like the approach of the new Mondraker model where they have released 4 colours and they're all available in each level. Makes stock a little tricky to manage and probably why it was so hard to buy anything, but still a better option.

Quite why i liked buying chinese frames. You get to choose whatever you want.

Weird, it won’t let me edit the last post but I am now the happy owner of a Giant Revolt Advanced 3, looking forward to a spin on Sunday.

I made it out this morning, nice day considering the last few.

Only did ten miles but I am very happy, needs a couple of tweaks.

Giant Revolt Advanced 3 2024 by the way.

Looking at 2 ti bikes at the moment. Decathlon triban and planet x tempest.
Like the thought of decathlon as customer service should be good and being able to take it to the shop.
Planet X I've never used. Their tempest Apex AXS looks good though for the same price as the decathlon.
Which would you choose ?

They’re probably very similar. I’d be tempted by the Decathlon for similar reasons, but Planet X generally are well regarded.

Things that deter me from the triban are press fit bb. Not many mounting points and 10 speed.
The tempest has threaded bb, more mounting points, electronic shifting with 11 speed. Also £200 cheaper at the moment.
It's just the customer service I'm not sure about. Also the tempest is a 60 day wait.

Am I looking at a different bike?

For me the Decathlon has 11sp GRX

Although actually. Having looked more. I’m erring towards the Planet X if you can wait. The fact you can spec saddles/handlebar width etc is brilliant.
Sorry yes the triban is 11 the tempest is 12.

I'm just under 5"8 so I think I'd go for the small frame. As for handlebar width I ain't got a clue. would have thought wider the better.

Personally I think I’d go Planet X as i love SRAM AXS

Although would probably buy the Triban as I’m impatient!

Maybe look used too?

Also add that I love my Titanium bike.
