Coil whine- Astral was better than Suprim for me but Aorus (AIO) quieter than both, but not silent.

Only when gaming. A little louder than Astral, much louder than Aorus. The 12V-2x6 was about 10c highe, Suprim Air and AIO, than both other cards. That's why I didn't keep them.
Not every card will be the same though. I think its a personal thing, what sound annoys one person won't annoy another...

, how did you monitor 12v temps?

Temperature sensor cable attached to motherboard placed between the 12V-2x6 plug, and a Coirsair fan hub which has a temp sensor into the psu side, you can then see the readings on HWINFIO, Aida 64 etc. (Have constantly displayed on 2nd monitor).
I also use a Thermal Grizzly Wire View Pro on my Waterforce AIO eg (https://www.overclockers.co.uk/tg-wireview-gpu-1x12vhpwr-normal-acc-tgz-03684.html) and waiting on the new pin monitoring version.

For what it is worth, I switched PSU (Corsair RM850X to a NZXT C1500) and it reduced the coil whine on my 5090 FE. Granted, it was minimal in the first place, but it still helped.

I had this with a 5090 repair, and when I sent them the original receipt it was sorted. Is it a repair or replacement?

I have 0 coil whine on an Inno3D 5090 Frostbite. It is in an open frame case right by me, the pumps are louder (barely audible though).

Hi, I have a question about my GPU fans. I’m now on my third Vanguard RTX 5090, and all three cards showed very similar behavior. On both of my previous units, the first fan started making a light rustling / swishing noise from around 30–40% fan speed, while the other two fans were quieter.

On my current (third) unit, it is again the first fan that does this, but this time I also noticed that this same fan has visible wobble when it spins. The other two fans spin perfectly straight and don’t make that noise.

With the case closed I can’t hear it at all, and there is no clicking, grinding, or vibration — just that one fan with some wobble. The card runs cool and is otherwise perfectly stable.

Is this kind of fan wobble and rustling normal for ball-bearing GPU fans, or does it indicate a defective fan that could get worse over time?

I think there's an issue with your video; the first half has no sound.

I muted the video because my son was making a lot of noise . It’s not really about the sound anyway, more about the wobbling of the first fan. Is that normal? The other fans are fine and don’t wobble; even on the first fan the wobble isn’t extreme. The fan doesn’t click, grind, or rattle — it just makes a slight swishing noise when the case is open.

Based on my experiences of GPU fans, if it sounds fine then consider yourself winning.

Hi, what I’m concerned about right now is not the fan noise, but whether you noticed in the video that the first fan is wobbling, but not extreme. The other two fans spin quite straight. I’m specifically asking about that wobble — is it normal?

I would say it's not normal (especially when it's on a >£1k card) but it's a difficult one because it doesn't seem to be causing any issues as you said.

I really don’t know, what should I do.
The fan is not causing any problems. For example, I have 11 Arctic P14 PWM fans in my PC and all of them wobble. And they are brand new.

If the fan is not causing issues and this is your 3rd unit, keep it. You certainly dont want a refund, just took a look at GPU prices on OC UK its as if we took a Time Machine to feb/march 2025

It's not normal but does happen and doesn't necessarily mean it would fail later, any fan could regardless of how it looks...
However, at plus 2k, I would request an RMA, or replacement if under 30 days and try something else. You will never be comfortable with this or you wouldn't have reached out. I wouldn't be happy with this.

Replacement due to whine - I actually got it sorted now, just had to send FedEx the details of the original shipment. nVidia sent me a brand new card, I've installed it and it also has whine :cry:

Maybe slightly less.
