coil whine on suprim its noisy? even with uv?Coil whine- Astral was better than Suprim for me but Aorus (AIO) quieter than both, but not silent.
Only when gaming. A little louder than Astral, much louder than Aorus. The 12V-2x6 was about 10c highe, Suprim Air and AIO, than both other cards. That's why I didn't keep them.coil whine on suprim its noisy? even with uv?
nice, another reason to keep my aorus 5090 airOnly when gaming. A little louder than Astral, much louder than Aorus. The 12V-2x6 was about 10c highe, Suprim Air and AIO, than both other cards. That's why I didn't keep them.
Not every card will be the same though. I think its a personal thing, what sound annoys one person won't annoy another...

Temperature sensor cable attached to motherboard placed between the 12V-2x6 plug, and a Coirsair fan hub which has a temp sensor into the psu side, you can then see the readings on HWINFIO, Aida 64 etc. (Have constantly displayed on 2nd monitor)., how did you monitor 12v temps?
For what it is worth, I switched PSU (Corsair RM850X to a NZXT C1500) and it reduced the coil whine on my 5090 FE. Granted, it was minimal in the first place, but it still helped.I can switch to ROG Loki 1200W If that helps
I've RMA'd my 5090FE due to the whine - I'll update on what happens. First, I swapped out the PSU to check it wasn't something other than the card and was going to just live with it, but ultimately it came down to using the card in Unreal Engine Editor which induces a sort of 'stop-start' whine every time the GPU disengaged when you go into a menu then reengaged in the 3D view, just awfully distracting and irritating. I honestly find the pitch and frequency of the whine different depending on the application and Unreal was the worst, but I could even hear it in Google Maps or scrolling a browser sometimes. Also, I had built a kind of showcase SFF PC that I want to keep on my desk, so tucking the thing out of the way for the whine to be more distant wasn't really something I wanted to do.
I had this with a 5090 repair, and when I sent them the original receipt it was sorted. Is it a repair or replacement?First update to my case: Nvidia RMA'd my 5090FE, but now it's stuck in customs coming back into the UK as they want tax (VAT) on it, which I already paid when I bought the card. Should probably have left 'good enough' alone! I really hope they can resolve it, their customer support has been pretty decent up to now.
I think there's an issue with your video; the first half has no sound.Hi, I have a question about my GPU fans. I’m now on my third Vanguard RTX 5090, and all three cards showed very similar behavior. On both of my previous units, the first fan started making a light rustling / swishing noise from around 30–40% fan speed, while the other two fans were quieter.
On my current (third) unit, it is again the first fan that does this, but this time I also noticed that this same fan has visible wobble when it spins. The other two fans spin perfectly straight and don’t make that noise.
With the case closed I can’t hear it at all, and there is no clicking, grinding, or vibration — just that one fan with some wobble. The card runs cool and is otherwise perfectly stable.
Is this kind of fan wobble and rustling normal for ball-bearing GPU fans, or does it indicate a defective fan that could get worse over time?
I muted the video because my son was making a lot of noise . It’s not really about the sound anyway, more about the wobbling of the first fan. Is that normal? The other fans are fine and don’t wobble; even on the first fan the wobble isn’t extreme. The fan doesn’t click, grind, or rattle — it just makes a slight swishing noise when the case is open.I think there's an issue with your video; the first half has no sound.
Based on my experiences of GPU fans, if it sounds fine then consider yourself winning.I muted the video because my son was making a lot of noise . Hi, what I’m concerned about right now is not the fan noise, but whether you noticed in the video that the first fan is wobbling, but not extreme. The other two fans spin quite straight. I’m specifically asking about that wobble — is it normal?Based on my experiences of GPU fans, if it sounds fine then consider yourself winning.
I would say it's not normal (especially when it's on a >£1k card) but it's a difficult one because it doesn't seem to be causing any issues as you said.Hi, what I’m concerned about right now is not the fan noise, but whether you noticed in the video that the first fan is wobbling, but not extreme. I really don’t know, what should I do.I would say it's not normal (especially when it's on a >£1k card) but it's a difficult one because it doesn't seem to be causing any issues as you said.
If the fan is not causing issues and this is your 3rd unit, keep it. You certainly dont want a refund, just took a look at GPU prices on OC UK its as if we took a Time Machine to feb/march 2025I really don’t know, what should I do.
The fan is not causing any problems. For example, I have 11 Arctic P14 PWM fans in my PC and all of them wobble. And they are brand new.
Replacement due to whine - I actually got it sorted now, just had to send FedEx the details of the original shipment. nVidia sent me a brand new card, I've installed it and it also has whineI had this with a 5090 repair, and when I sent them the original receipt it was sorted. Is it a repair or replacement?
Maybe slightly less.
