Tyres, talk to me

Are they worn evenly across the whole tyre or is it just an inner edge that goes first?

Sounds like you drive a lot harder than the average person and if you do then that's just the cost of doing business.

Also it's generally a good idea to rotate tyres so you don't end up with ones that are way older on the back than the front, best to rotate and the replace all 4 at once if you like to drive in a spirited fashion.

I always look at the tyrereviews website.

From that it looks like these tyres might be worth a try but i dont know how price compares

Pirelli P Zero PZ5

I have a skoda octavia VRS 2.0 petrol on 19" wheels mapped to around 400 ft/lb of torque and 320ish bhp

I usually do around 6000 miles per year and unsurprisingly it is eating the front tyres, I am getting about a year out of them (maybe even a bit less)
I have fitted Pilot sport 4s since I had it.
The rears have been on 2 years at this point and still have plenty of tread left.

Are there any other options worth considering or should I just suck it up ?

also to add it wheelspins easily in anything other than dry conditions, when pulling out of junctions etc.
I assume I can't improve grip and gain durability ?
Michelins last longer than most tyres so I don’t think anything other than plastic tyres is going to help the life of them.

They do over 25k on the rear on my m3 so maybe the wheel spins are your issue. Do they have a diff ?

Assuming no change of car, I think @MassiveJim has a 220 variant, so no fancy diff as standard, just XDS trying to keep things in check.

Michelin also test their tyres at various wear stages, making sure grip and feel stays consistent as the tyre wears.

If you’re not driving it quickly, then maybe some additional mechanical sympathy by dialling down the boost might help?
