That CPR could literally be the difference between life and death, dunno what the laugh is about
They should make it that you have to do a first aid course before a motorbike or car theory test if this is what some the questions are going to be.

I don't remember much of my tests as i took all 3 of them in the mid to late 80's (Small bike test in 84 or 85, Car test in 87, large bike test in 89)
We didn't have any Theory or CBT tests before riding or driving back then.

I did my car Driving test around a month before the Theory test was brought in. My 'Theory test' was identifying half a dozen road signs and that was about it. Passed first time too.

I'm a first aid trained and I couldn't tell you the correct depth, just stop before you think it's going to crack isn't it? :p examiners have never got out a ruler in the 15 years I have been doing it either.

‘if you hear a crack, you’re deep enough’
I did real CPR on a heart attack victim a few years ago. I had paramedics on the phone giving advice while I did it. They said "don't worry if you break a rib, you still might save their life".

Unfortunately the guy still passed away. But at least myself and a few others tried.

I was surprised to just how low the success rate is when I did first aid training. If someone manages to keep you going until the paramedics arrive then you've been very lucky indeed.

Bit pointless for you isn't it? It's the people that ride with you that need the training based on your previous performances:D

I had to do CPR on an old lady years ago, she had been dead a while but 999 still wanted me to do them, there was cracking.... :o

:D Hopefully I am awake enough to give instructions....

Worth learning how to do it yourself, really easy on bikes.
None of mine have ever been near a garage for servicing or anything else for that matter gathered the tools and taught myself how to do everything other than strip engines down and that was only because I've never had a shed/garage to do it in.

yeah it's brand new bike so required for the warranty. I work on pushbikes, it looks pretty easy, warm up engine, get drip tray, remove drain and oil filter bolts drain out, clean filter, put back, pour 750ml ish amount of 10W40

Gear oil looks similar, two bolts, drain, put bottom bolt back, 125ml ish of gear oil

MOT done for another year, got him some biscuits as that's the last MOT here probably, moving jobs and will need to find a garage in the Romsey area now.

Then almost lost the front end on mud on the way home in the dark and rain.... many expletives were heard. :o :D

Careful with this one. That little "gearbox" is a tiny volume with zero expansion capability, so you need to make sure you get it absolutely spot on. Too little oil and the gears will overheat and go bang, too much oil and it'll expand and the whole case will go bang. Also do NOT skimp on the oil, it only takes 125ml so cheap rubbish oil will affect the lifespan of those gears that much more.

It seems very simple on paper, but I've seen it go wrong a few times, and every single time it's been absolutely spectacular. Keep in mind that these gears are also directly attached to the rear wheel so of they break or seize, you're gonna have a bad day.
