I was thinking about Spie today and searched the forums to see what he is upto now. Came across this thread. :(
RIP Mark, lots of good, happy memories of the old days.

Wife scrapped her 2005 Astra in for a new Kadjar. The Renault deal already discounted £4.5k off list, plus £2k for the Astra was a nice discount and she loves the Kadjar.
I've got a Black GTE. Had it since September on lease scheme through work. I average 55mpg. It's a nice car, pain to charge (with any EV car though), and is not as great as you would think on mpg in real world. I'm not too bothered though.
I would have no trouble driving that. If it has passed the MOT - it is safe.
Some testers mark EVERYTHING they see that is not as in "new" condition as advisory (usually off the back of an inspection)
You could take same car to another tester down the road and get zero advisories
You wont have any problems getting parts for the 9-5. I've got loads of spares of the years (even small obsolete washers were easy to get hold of from places like Neo Brothers)
I bought the car in 2011 for £1100 - sold it in 2014 for £1250 :)
only problems I had in 4 years.

I know you said you didn't want an Estate - but a Saab 9-5 Aero Estate is the car to have. The boot space is enormous, perfect for a German Shepherd. The autobox is lovely and smooth and the engine is a beauty.
I had one not so long ago, had it for nearly 4 years.
