Corsair Link is a diabolical piece of software.

Interestingly, I just upgraded my graphics setup from SLI 460s to a single 7950 and the problem has completely gone. It now consistently remembers the settings. I have no idea why that might be, but either something about my last cards or the Nvidia drivers was apparently messing with Link.

Is it still worth going for a GTX 680?

Just as an update and to thank you all for the advice, my 7950 arrived this morning to tide me over until upgrade fever bites once all the 20nm cards have arrived, and I've just finished clocking it to a nice stable 1225MHz, 1500MHz on the memory. Comparing it to the SLI 460s (both at max...

**GAINWARD TITANS: ARRIVING VERY SOON - PRE-ORDER SPECIAL!!**

Kinda the idea of a warranty! Covers early failures due to manufacturing errors. Doesn't overlap with the planned obsolescence of the card, since then they would make an absurd loss. Also, if I had £800 one of these would be on its way. Alas...

Corsair Link is a diabolical piece of software.

(Using with an H100i, for reference) About 50% of the time when I boot up my computer, Corsair Link decides not to apply my custom cooling curves. It SHOWS that they're applied, and then happily sits there like a lemon with the fans at 600RPM while Prime95 runs and the cpu hits 70 degrees...

Is it still worth going for a GTX 680?

Hmm, what kind of rough price are we expecting the 770 to hit? Seen speculation on the 780, not the 770. Other than that it looks like the 670. Cheers all!

Is it still worth going for a GTX 680?

Edit: Just as an update and to thank you all for the advice, my 7950 arrived this morning to tide me over until upgrade fever bites once all the 20nm cards have arrived, and I've just finished clocking it to a nice stable 1225MHz, 1500MHz on the memory. Corsair 550D and 280mm sealed CPU coolers

Can anyone who owns one of these, or at least has more info, please drag out a ruler and enlighten me as far as these go? From what I understand, Corsair's own H110 won't fit in as the spacing between the 140mm fans is 20mm on that not the standard 15mm used on the case. But the NZXT Kracken one...

    New hard drive issues

Ah the bloody thing's kaput isn't it. Bring on cheap, high capacity SSDs so we can stop arsing around with these things! Ta for the help.

    New hard drive issues

I'll try chkdsking it now. Fun fact, the BIOS reports the drive as 136GB. Can't feel any noticable vibration, but I'm not sure how much to expect. As I said before though, the drive gets warm.

    New hard drive issues

Both the cable and port are fine, I've tried several. That was the other formatting method I was referring to, doesn't help, same error.

    New hard drive issues

Hello all. Brand new 3TB Seagate Barracuda turned up today. Plugged in, computer turned on, and I hear the hard drive spin up. I then hear the hard drive beep at me. I'm not sure if the thing keeps spinning after this, I can't feel anything but the drive stays warm so I assume it's still spun...

    SSD install problems

Ok, new game. I've got it to boot! It seems to not like some of the SATA ports, in spite of the fact that the hard drive doesn't mind them. God knows. But that aside, my computer now recognises that the drive is there, but it doesn't show up in "my computer" as a drive. Ideas? And yep I've since...

    SSD install problems

Why would that possibly be affected by an SSD? The cards aren't overclocked anyway I'm afraid.

    SSD install problems

Crucial M4, sorry, should have mentioned that before. Motherboard is a Gigabyte P67A-UD4-B3, the internet seems to imply it is hot-swap capable so I'll have a dig through the BIOS in a moment. Edit: Nope, hot swap only on the ESATA ports.

    SSD install problems

As I've stated, the computer won't boot at all with the SSD plugged in, in any drive combination.

    SSD install problems

Perhaps I need to clarify what is going on. I plug the SSD in as an additional hard drive, which should result in my computer booting up, and showing an extra drive as available. What actually happens is that it crashes on the BIOS splash screen (and doesn't even get to the bootloader to try...

    SSD install problems

The boot is set to my hard drive, it still doesn't boot correctly when the SSD is connected. I can't run a fresh install as I only have an upgrade edition of windows. I'll have a look for the ACHI mode, ta. Edit: Nope was in IDE mode.

    SSD install problems

Trying to install a new SSD. I only have an upgrade edition of windows 7, so I'm going to have to clone my OS to the new one, then run a reinstall, which by my estimation will bypass the licence issue. The issue is, that whenever I plug the SSD in I can't boot the computer. With it unplugged...

    M4 128GB Raid

So is the general consensus that it's not worth the hassle and chance of one of them failing as the gains are marginal? I'll just grab myself a 256 then and save some time and effort. :)

    M4 128GB Raid

Two 128GB drives in RAID 0 provides the same amount of storage as one 256GB drive. It's the same capacity, only a few quid more expensive, and presumably has slightly higher performance.
