Right so my panel arrived midweek last week but I didn't get to play with it until the weekend.
The build quality is impressive; the stand, screen and all the styling have a heft to them that is quite reassuring. Fitting the two bolts to secure the column to the stand base was a little fiddly -...
Update: Got an email last night saying my screen is out for delivery. Should have it tomorrow. Will let you all know how I get on with my ticket in the pixel lottery!
It's not looking too good for these pre-orders being fulfilled any time soon. I placed on Feb 12th, have since been told that a batch of 20 were expected on the 18th but as of today, still no sign of them.
I see other suppliers have a restock date of last week of March, can anyone from OcUK...
Anyone know when OcUK gets these in stock next? Another unnameable supplier seems to have some in, but I wouldn't wish their customer support on anyone...
Quick enough to warrant an answer :D
I own an LG 34UM95 which is the same panel in a different chassis, minus the overclock etc, and I've pre-ordered one of these. I'll be very surprised if what's true for the LG isn't for the Asus, so to answer your question...
Yeah you can set the screen...
Same here. Run everything in a 2560 x 1440 16:9 desktop with black borders each side for a week or two beforehand so the impact is felt going back to Superwide?! ;)
I got this from another site so can't be 100% sure it's accurate, but measured up against my LG 34UM95 it looks to be about right for the same panel...
Dimensions (with stand):
829 x 558 x 297mm (WxHxD)
Dimensions (without stand):

Spot on, thanks for the helpful info! I had a crap time of the Acer XB270HU panels when they arrived and that kinda burned me from wanting to try G-Sync again; sounds like it's matured a bit now (plus Asus build a better unit than Acer!)
I think, having tested one each of the three flavours of top-end gaming monitor recently (3440x1440 @ 60Hz IPS, 1440p @ 144Hz IPS, 4K @60Hz VN) the 1440p 144Hz avenue just isn't quite there yet in terms of build quality. The panel is great if you get a good one and in the right lighting...
I got my refund, thought about chancing it again but after two clunkers reckon we'll have to wait for a well-built G-Sync IPS 144Hz screen to be designed.
Gone instead for the Philips BDM4065UC - 40" 4K@60Hz done right. "Only" a VN panel but finding the colours and blacks to be beautiful so...
My faulty Acers (for I went through two trying to find a decent one) were collected last Thursday, and the refund cleared into my account today. I have been dealing with Mark at Acer throughout. Shame it came to this, guess there's a lesson to be learned about jumping on bleeding-edge untested tech.
Rather than type it out again, I'll explain my experience with my long-awaited replacement by copying the email I just sent to the Acer escalation contact who has been (in fairness) helping me sort this out:
So from bad to worse really. To recap, my first one was ok in terms of pixels and...
You're gonna have to share that prize - just unboxed my "new" replacement and got the same. Blue LED and Windows detects a display but nothing on the screen at all. About to post a more detailed report...
