The Samsung 32" uses the exact same AV panel as your BenQ does. Therefore both the BenQ and Samsung suffer from the same banding and flickering problems :(

That's good to know Stu and thanks for posting. Apparently the affected monitors have a manufacturing build date of August and September 2014 so if you have one of those I'd check it out and RMA if need be.

Update: I just heard back from BenQ and they're aware of a flashing problem effecting a batch of these monitors. They said its due to the back lighting and main board not syncing up. They can replace the faulty monitors via RMA in case anyone else suffers this very issue. Still very...
