I've had some weird issues with the bios on my z370 gaming 7 board, especially with the ram overclock. I got my ram from 3200 to 3866 rock stable, tried to push it more and it failed and switched to the 2nd bios, which was on F4. Updated to F13 and tried the same stable ram overclock settings...

Thats great news! Watercooling can be a pain sometimes but its a lot of fun! :D As for the cpu block, visually the intake should be near the middle and the water leaving is to the side, i think its the same for all the EK blocks atleast.

I had my old i5 2500k at 4.9ghz 1.45v for 7+ years without problems, it needed slightly more voltage for the same oc towards the end of its use but not much at all. So have no fear in giving it extra volt loving if you have good cooling :)

Well took the plunge and reapplied some new paste, was barely any left when I looked. 12 degrees lower temps now under load, and a lesson learned! Will have to get some decent paste for a more long term solution, thinking Some Gelid Extreme ^^

Well with it hanging at that stage of the game there isn't too much you can change. I'd consider doing a bios update on the motherboard, good chance that will fix things for you if its a recently updated one!
