ASUS PG27UQ need help calibration !

If you are talking about far cry 5 and far cry new dawn then scRGB is much better than HDR10. Shadow of the tomb raider and Forza Horizon 4 are great HDR games as well.

ASUS PG27UQ need help calibration !

Just use 120hz 8bit 4:4:4, it looks no different to 98hz 10 bit in HDR at all, even reviewers said so. 144hz at 4:2:2 10 bit i can see a slight difference in image quality as expected so i stick to 120hz. The mid overdrive setting is best and leaving the specific HDR brightness setting at 80...

G-sync monitor versus high refresh rate, 120hz/144hz monitor

The higher your refresh rate is the less tearing you will notice even when gaming at a lower fps at the high hz. For example playing at 65fps at 85hz = judder and tearing, same fps at 120hz = less judder and less noticable tearing. You should opt for 165hz at 1440p for example. Also the input...

The Turing RTX 2080 Ti Owners Thread

The wiring used is rgb in the FE cards but it cannot be changed from green. I presume yours has some dodgy wiring causing it to show as orange/red.

The Turing RTX 2080 Ti Owners Thread

Right okay, you should have mentioned 5k as i can try the bench at that res. With The high preset and AA disabled you get Avg - 53 fps. Tried DSR at 8k and the game still crashes on the benchmark so it’s not just a fault with the ingame res slider.

The Turing RTX 2080 Ti Owners Thread

Hi, Checked for you. FE card with OC mem +700 and core OC so in game boost was 2040mhz. High preset + 140% was min 36, max 74, avg 48. The clouds in the bench change so fps can vary by 2fps either way. 200% was causing crashes and some glitching on the load screen to the bench. Ran it without...

Is there anywhere in the UK where i can buy an RTX 2080 Ti in stock?

Just buy an FE card, I did. Great design, build quality, looks etc. Factory OC’d and only £1099 with free shipping. Best option i think for the money. Those cheap cards have less power limit in afterburner etc and look bloody awful.

    Ok, thanks for that info.

    Noob basic ram overclock question

Thanks. I’ve managed to change the dram frequency drop down menu to 4000mhz with xmp still on and it seems stable on some tests and gaming so i’ll leave it there i think. Nice bump for a 1 second job in the bios. My motherboard maxes out at 4100mhz support anyway.

    Noob basic ram overclock question

I have a Z370 asus rog maximus x hero, i7 8086k at 5.2ghz. The corsair vengence ram from my previous build is lpx 3600mhz C18 19 19 39. I have set the XMP profile in the bios but due to my lack of ram overclocking knowledge i was wondering if i kept the XMP profile active and scrolled down to...

New 144hz 4k monitor spotted, INSANE PRICES!!!

One good thing about the oled is the lack of response time issues, VA panels are really bad at dark transitions. Glad your enjoying your content, hopefully more PC games get great HDR implementations for people to enjoy.

New 144hz 4k monitor spotted, INSANE PRICES!!!

I have been a tech guy for many years, i’m not a noob, i know very well what i am doing and what looks correct or not and what cabling works. Both my tv and the xbox one s are both proper HDR 10 devices. I know what the differences are to SDR. For PC gaming though high fps is way more important...

New 144hz 4k monitor spotted, INSANE PRICES!!!

I calibrate my own screens with a colour meter and have done for years but nothing can improve the oled HDR experience, crushing highlights or too dim is just a factor of oled, not enough brightness headroom to tone map highlights without a darker image. I only tried HDR gaming (on an xbox one...

New 144hz 4k monitor spotted, INSANE PRICES!!!

Having tried HDR on my E6 lg OLED it’s not that great. The game mode is far too dim and weird looking and outside game mode it crushes all the HDR highlights, plus yucky 60hz. These kind of monitors will be next upgrade when they get cheaper. I just can’t play any game with mouse and keyboard...

    40th Anniversary Intel - Core i7-8086K - 5.0GHz+

Enjoying mine. Got it to 5.2ghz at 1.35v and cpu cache ratio at 49, not tried higher no need. It crashed at 5.3mhz. Seemed worth the extra to get the 8086k as this is the kind of overclock i wanted. Enjoyed Assassin’s creed origins at ultra now buttery smooth unlike my 6700k.

    G sync or 4k

24" 1440p looks fantastic. The obvious choice and the monitor i use is the Dell S2417DG. Just needs gamma tweaking and then it's perfect. 1080p still looks pretty crap at 24" and does no justice to textures in modern games.

    Asus ROG Swift PG27UQ 4K IPS 144Hz G-Sync HDR

Don't think they'll be a rush for this. Running 60fps max settings on new titles even on the Titan XP is quite rare never mind over 90fps. You can also count the PC's HDR games on one hand. 1440p high hz for high end gpu's is still the go to thing IMO at the moment. It's going to be a while to...

    Dell S2716DG - Dells first G-sync

No, i'm using the Dell 24" S2417DG version. I recently checked out the new Asus rival to the 27" Dell the PG278QR and it was pretty perfect even gamma was deep i just can't stand the grainy panel, real shame as that would be top dog for image for 27" TN 1440p. Perhaps a new 27" Dell will be more...

No problem. I'm not aware of these programs sorry. Are you going to get the 27" Dell then?
