I can understand why there might be no companies wanting to pick up the staff costs but maintaining the forum should be fairly insignificant especially for a company that already has infrastructure, so I never quite understood Amazon's desire to abandon it.
I don't think it's unreasonable that they didn't see COVID coming and the Government mandated lock downs which destroyed supply lines just at the point when demand was exploding. It really was a stars aligning once a century kind of event.
Clearly they were wrong but I don't think it would have...
Is the warranty really that important? How many people have found their cards fail within 2 years? Most electronic failures in my experience occur on the extremes.
That's good advice, personally I'm pretty happy to game at 1440p but for anything else it's not ideal.
As I'm not buying a 4090 it's a fairly moot point what my preference is when I can't/won't realise it, maybe in two or three more generations... Who knows maybe pricing sanity will have...
I don't think there's any point upgrading from a 3080 to a 4070ti for performance gains unless it's stupidly low priced, realistically you're going to see 10-20% better performance and the low end is not a meaningful improvement. If you want one because it uses less power, is quieter and runs...
So are you saying this person would have upgraded their PC if GPUs were cheaper? They mention they basically have every platform so money clearly isn't the biggest hurdle for them, I think this post is just showing console is their preference and isn't really addressing the earlier points...
I don't believe you, I do not believe someone would stop playing the games they like because they can't justify the latest GPU so they swap platforms to play different games. That makes them sound like alcoholics who'll drink paint thinner because they can't get anything else.
If you're just...
Does anyone here really stop playing their preference in games just to switch platform to save a few quid? That sounds mental unless you just play multi-platform games.
The AI can play the game for you and you can go off and do something productive instead.
Then the AI's steal all our jobs so I guess we're going full Matrix sooner or later.
This was the part that got me, I just tried out one and despite having all the current information on the problems I was never confident it was properly locked in place beyond squinting to see if it was flush and hoping for the best. There's no tactile feedback, you can't hear it either and it's...
I could see someone upgrading regardless if they found a GPU at a super low price, thanks to the bundle they save even more not having to buy D4 so it could be a fairly nice little win for a few individuals.
