    AMD RDNA3 unveiling event

Yeah, that was always the issue with multi GPU. But when you are as close as two die's on one package, it's not as bad. But the interconnect still needs to be good enought with one Die being the master die etc. Makes me wonder if we will see some AMD butter donut interconnect using an active...

    AMD RDNA3 unveiling event

From what was leaked a while ago, RDNA 3 WGP's are supposed to be a fair bit smaller than RDNA2 WGP's at the same feature size (node). Big thing to wait on is if they do this rumoured dual graphics die model or not. But from the Die shot's it doesn't seem like NAVI31 has the interconnects for...

    Samsung Working on 8k ultrawide (~8192 x 2160) QD-OLED Neo G9 replacement with DP 2.1

As the title says, not sure how reliable the verge is, but this is going to need a Radeon 7k to power it! Unless Nvidia do a refresh with updated display engine on the 4k series. https://www.theverge.com/2022/11/3/23439399/samsung-8k-ultrawide-odyssey-neo-g9 Would love to see a refresh over...

World first QD-OLED monitor from Dell and Samsung (34 inch Ultrawide 175hz)

The smallest QD panel coming out anytime soon is the 34UW, the next size up is the 55 used in the televisions. But you are talking 2.5K for one of those.

World first QD-OLED monitor from Dell and Samsung (34 inch Ultrawide 175hz)

AS i have been using this more, i have been noticing how uniform and good colours look. Especially when large blocks of colour are showing. I wonder if part of this is down to the exceptional viewing angles. Meaning that even the slight parallax created by your eyes doesn't cause any distortion.

Eww, why would anyone want to torture themselves with VA smearing anymore? This QD-OLED has spoiled me now with it's superior response times and i can no longer go back to anything lesser than it. :p

"black levels are no better than a regular IPS LCD monitor" Complete trash for many reasons. And unless you have bright light shining directly on the screen then any monitor is going to have poor black levels. He also doesn't seem to understand the technology at all. It's a front emissive...

World first QD-OLED monitor from Dell and Samsung (34 inch Ultrawide 175hz)

What they really needed to do was make a format that provides HDR as a superset of SDR signals without needing the display to switch mode. Such as 40/50Bit per pixel where the last 10 bits is for the HDR Meta etc. If the signal is zero for the HDR channel then just use the monitors SDR...

World first QD-OLED monitor from Dell and Samsung (34 inch Ultrawide 175hz)

I would assume Pixel refresh is similar to what happens with LG OLED's. Checking each sub pixel then making small corrections. The way i surmise that it works is by reverse biasing the sub pixels and checking at what voltage a specific reverse current occurs. Shifts in the reverse bias...

World first QD-OLED monitor from Dell and Samsung (34 inch Ultrawide 175hz)

Increasing longevity is always a nicety, but my screen is also setup to feel comfortable to work on for long periods. I only flick it into HDR if i go to play something in HDR. Leaving HDR on all the time prevents manual brightness adjustment.

I just run in SDR the majority of the time and my brightness is only set to 25%, is plenty bright for my use case. Having a reasonable brightness and not running HDR constantly will significantly increase the lifespan. Something else i came across the other day is that QD displays are actaully...

World first QD-OLED monitor from Dell and Samsung (34 inch Ultrawide 175hz)

I have seen pixel shifting happening at times while working. It's interesting to notice the screen area dancing around the native display area. That's one nice thing in radeon settings, it actually shows the full specs.

3440x1440 is easier to run QD-OLED produces better colours - Due to Significantly better primary colour seperation and brightness compared to WOLED HW Gsync module included in the price - Ties in to low latency etc. 3 year HW warranty including burn in QD-OLED should be more resistent to...

World first QD-OLED monitor from Dell and Samsung (34 inch Ultrawide 175hz)

:D Something else that i just noticed is that this is the only monitor in existence that supports a VRR (G-SYNC ultimate rated) range of 1 - 175Hz. EDIT - Ignore this, i just noticed that the page was not showing all of the monitors properly. This is probably down to the G-sync module frame...

A little bit of ISO will help clear oils from hands. just don't drown your cloth in it and don't spray it directly onto the screen. I don't think it's a protective film, it just seems that some of the backing from the bubble wrap gets stuck to the screen. The majority of it came away for me...

That black crush can also be due to the quality of the encode and bitrate. Near black detail is often the first thing destroyed by the majority of lossy codecs. Easiest way to test it is to use the monitor tests like the gradient test on here https://www.eizo.be/monitor-test/

Using the cleartype setup can help clear up the text Try it with a game, the pixel response makes 60FPS on this look like over 100.
