I think you've completely missed the point for the criticism which was more to do with the insane power and heat for the size of the die and the performance lets not get too fanboyish here now.
I dont think anyone should really care about power consumption providing the performance is good...
I think considering its CPU limited in some games at 1440p and MSFS runs on DX11 it doesn't really show its full potential and would be a poor game to focus on given its a flight sim that doesn't require that high FPS to play to begin with. Its between 30-75% faster than a 2080 & 20-30% faster...
But again we have no idea on drivers used or any meaningful information, just wait 2 days it even says at the bottom of that article "Either way, take the results with a grain of salt."
Another bitter sounding reply and again we know all of this because you haven't stopped with the same old story we really do get it you're not buying and its all about you.
He's right though you come across as such a bitter person spouting your console nonsense the reality is some people like to game at higher than 30 - 60fps hence high refresh monitors being so popular, some people also like to play RDR2 at 4k higher than medium settings is this so hard for you to...
Do people not realise this game has 5 months of bug fixing and optimisation left? Even at 1080p with DLSS I thought it looked fantastic even better than the 2018 footage which was already impressive.
No one said AMD are bad for using a newer process I'm just looking at your original statement about efficiency then looking at the facts and it doesn't quite add up that's all it. Whats funny your argument holds up even less if you compare the 5700XT to the 2080Ti which consumes only 25w more...
Not much more I can say as you don't appear to be looking at the facts I'm really confused how they can be equivalent right now with the 2070 having a larger die with dedicated RT hardware on a older process node whilst consuming 10w less than the 5700XT?
This is very true that's why I said...
It's not irrelevant since you stated the 5700XT is more efficient when it really isn't 7nm v 12nm, a smaller die size and no dedicated RT hardware with that information being fact it makes your statement incorrect 12nm isn't current tech.
Hopefully AMD can close the gap but it'll be interesting...
If you read his post he said
AMD will need a strong lineup across the board to gain any meaningful market share not just at high end which the average Joe doesn't really care about.
RT is important in more ways than you clearly understand maybe look into how current lighting techniques are done in games and how many hours it takes to manually light scenes its a painstaking process and not to mention the obvious benefits to eye candy, you also have to remember current games...
This makes it sound like its going to cost more than people are expecting or just the usual marketing talk, I really hope this isn't going to be another dud release from AMD.
You what? A 2080Ti uses 250watts on a 775mm² 12nm chip compared to the 5700XT which uses 225watts on a 251 mm² 7nm chip how did you come to this conclusion for efficiency per mm²?
Fortnite is their cash cow why wouldn't they announce it being moved over to UE5? Not sure there's really much to ponder its a UE5 tech demo running on a console which is going to release for people to make games on both PC/Console unless I completely missed something?
I'd maybe wait until they release before gobbling up all the pre-release marketing hype like we get every generation it's already gone from 4K/120Hz to 4k/30Hz no doubt the UE5 tech demo was really pretty to look at but lets not forget its not a game and it was running on a RDNA2 APU.
I'm...
The DGX-A100 system being priced at $199,000 compared to $399,000 for previous gen could be a slight glimmer of hope for the pricing of the gaming cards that's a pretty drastic reduction in price.
