    X570 Recommendations? £250-£320 Budget

Yes, that's one thing I missed, was looking @ wrong board manual, though to B550-E you can still add 4 more SSDS to PCIE that is Tomohawk missing and with B550-XE addon card for 4 M.2 ssd should be already included.

    BEST ASUS ROG X570 BUDGET

I don't know, never considered that board, removed it from the list to consider because of only one PCI-e slot from CPU, and looking at it now, 4x M.2, but B550-XE is still better and can get 6 M.2 drives (expander included), and it's slightly cheaper.

    B550 vs X570

Gigabyte Gaming X ? That's even worse than Tomahawk in features and VRM temps were far worse than on other boards tested on launch. Its 14+2 90A power stages on B550-XE, Asus just use two in parallel so it can be virtually considered 7+1 180A, there are some drawbacks but also benefits, anyway...

    BEST ASUS ROG X570 BUDGET

I agree that there are better boards, Dark Hero and x570 Master being best reasonable ones. My point was that I consider B550-XE as one of the best B550 boards and I also think it's more universal and I consider it better than X570 Elite Because I have and sometimes use 8port SAS/SATA...

    BEST ASUS ROG X570 BUDGET

Ok my bad about bios, but what I described is a common issue with most gigabyte dual bios boards. No 2nd slot does not steal anything, it works exactly the same as on any x570 mobo, it either runs x16, x0 or x8,x8 if you want to use both. Show me any x570 motherboard that can do more than x8x8...

    BEST ASUS ROG X570 BUDGET

x1 slots are more or less useless, for the majority of cards you need x4 slot at a minimum unless you are a miner. Sure 2nd PCI-e slot on Elite is Gen4x4 from the chipset, but the 2nd slot on B550-E is Gen4x8 from CPU directly, so Elite loose on this point B550-E has 3rd slot Gen3x4 from the...

    B550 vs X570

You could simply use m.2 expander card to add more SSDs or anything else like capture cards, audio processing cards, 2nd GPU, or using 1st GPU in 2nd slot in case 1st slot breaks or if you cant fit card in 1st slot because it collides with GPU cooler or something else in the case. Also, some...

    B550 vs X570

Yes, that is what I said, and I take it as a big disadvantage to lose the 2nd gen4 PCI-e slot, If you ever need it you are screwed and stuck with those M.21 slots forever.

    5600x vs 5800x which should I keep?

The extra money he can get from selling 5800 does not really help in the current situation on GPU market. I would keep 5800 if he plans to use it for several years. Our next-gen upgrade is going to be CPU+MOBO+RAM combo and most likely at a higher price.

    B550 vs X570

Except: - only 1st PCI-e is from CPU, the other two are from the chipset - 2nd and 3rd M.2 is shared with 1st x16 slot (you are better off having 2nd PCI-e slot to use as you desire, add more SSD or any other card) - 2nd PCI-e slot is only x4 gen3 unless you use Sata 3-4 ports in which case its...

Future-ish proof (6/7+ years) MoBo headache. Help, please!

There is not really much difference between X570 and good B550 mobos unless you go all the way up to 500+ Eur boards like Dark Hero or Gigabyte x570 master. As for SATA it's going to stay for at least another decade, it will take at least another 10-15 years for SSD to catch up with price and...

    X570 Recommendations? £250-£320 Budget

Wy not ASUS ROG B550-E? B550-E is better in everything, can get up to 6 M.2, 5 of them Gen4 using addon card in 2nd PCIe, 1 more PCI-e x16 gen4, postcode, intel NIC, HDMI 2.1 for APU, more USBs...

    B550 vs X570

I don't know why everyone is recommending X570 boards that have so many features cut out that B550 at a similar price can be much better. If you can go a little bit higher with the price this mobo is a far better option, well worth its price...

    BEST ASUS ROG X570 BUDGET

X570 Aorus Elite chipset heatsink is not that much better, few degrees does not make much difference. Also, many people have some stability issues on the whole Aorus lineup unless you are lucky to get an improved 1.2 revision which is very hard to get. It's also missing postcode, has only 1st...

    Which 5M Cable/interface?

Depend on what HDMI version cable you want, you can get real 2.1 48gbps (Ultra high speed certified) HDMI cables, but usually in 1-3m length. KableDirect has up to 3m available on Amazon, they should have 4m as well according to the picture but don't know where to find it. For older 2.0 18gbit...

    Which 5M Cable/interface?

I would recommend "KabelDirekt – 8K DisplayPort cable version 1.4 – 5m" from amazon. They have both normal and Vesa certified versions which as far as I know are the same, just 1st one is cheaper without Vesa royalties. I am using the 3m normal version and it's the best DP cable I had so far...

Any owners of Dell Alienware AW3821 around for a question ?

Pretty much any g-sync ultimate monitor should support Freesync as it requires a new V2 g-sync module, for the rest of the regular g-sync monitor it depends on the module and firmware version it has.

AMD 6800 & 6800 XT MBA LAUNCH AT 2PM TODAY - EXTREMELY LIMITED STOCK!

Same reason I want to upgrade just going from WQHD 120Hz to WQHD+ 160Hz monitor, though I will use it probably just in 10bit 120Hz mode. Once RT can run in 90-120Hz range on QHD+ I will use it, until that I prefer higher FPS over some slightly better lighting effect, Though I think we are still...

AMD 6800 & 6800 XT MBA LAUNCH AT 2PM TODAY - EXTREMELY LIMITED STOCK!

I don't see a need/reason to use RT in games as even 3090 is not fast enough to handle it with high framerate and I am getting 3840x1600@160Hz monitor as soon as LG refresh their stock (hopefully before Christmas). Not that it's still getting supported in many titles.

The thread which sometimes talks about RDNA2

Also to note is that games use Nvidia proprietary libraries for RT instead of depending fully on direct X API. I expect Nvidia might get a bit worse performance when using standard API and AMD will get better once they tune drivers, get game optimizations and implement their own version of DLSS...
