advice for SSD "setup" in new PC

I know nothing about SSD disks, so could you please explain what you mean with "faster 4k speeds"? I see that the specs is 3050/1700 R/W, versus EVO 970 3400/2300. There is only one store in Norway that has that SSD, and it's a little bit cheaper than the 970 EVO when adding freight cost. Nice...

advice for SSD "setup" in new PC

Heya. I'm currently trying to figure out which parts to use in a new gaming / photo video editing PC. According to Adobe forum discussions, it is highly adviced to have a hard drive setup like this to get the best and quickest workflow for video editing: SSD 1: OS + Programs SSD 2: Project...

Gaming & 4K video PC: Need help deciding!

I've done some more reading. I think this soon deserves a master degree! I found a video on youtube. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ofdh-THQFpE Interesting stuff, which highly speaks of using the 8th generation intel CPU in Adobe, because of it's Intel GPU. The Intel X series does not have...

Gaming & 4K video PC: Need help deciding!

No, I haven't done my homework when it comes to AMD, I feel. I've only had a quick look at some Adobe benchmarks, where the Ryzen 1700x and 1800x are compared to 8700k and Intel's highest level CPU's...

Gaming & 4K video PC: Need help deciding!

You make an excellent point that I haven't thought about. First gen motherboards aren't the most stabile thing are they... I guess new TR will come in in the autumn 2018? That leaves me with 1511 vs 2066. Will have to look at 2066 CPU and motherboard reviews then. I've concentrated on the 8700k.

Gaming & 4K video PC: Need help deciding!

I also got a yearly tax refund today, which was a lot more than imagined. This makes it hard to NOT drool upon intel's extreme cpu's and 2066....

Thank you also, for the quick reply. I agree with you. I think choosing a good, more expensive PSU is clever in the long run. I just got a chock when most "good" PSU were in the 120+ GBP price range. And I have to try "cheaping down" somewhere :D

Gaming & 4K video PC: Need help deciding!

Thanks for the quick reply. I'm trying very hard to include AMD into the choices, but I always end back with Intel. It may very well be because I'm ignorant and uneducated towards AMD. I would like to play around with overclocking, but haven't really tried this since the time we had to play...

Gaming & 4K video PC: Need help deciding!

Hello everyone. For the past four-five years I have been wanting to build a new computer, but each time I sit down and read up on parts I always find that in x-months something new will arrive. The use: The use will be gaming primarily, but I will also use the PC for photo & video editing...
