New 27" advice - hold me back!

I had shortlisted this one. Thanks for the info. Was the colour ok? Heard a few people say it can be oversaturated and I don't have any fancy tools to calibrate.

New 27" advice - hold me back!

I have had a look at OLED, but it's not for me at the moment. Thank you though. The MSI MPG321QRF looks interesting, just not too bright. I've had LG before and they were ok. Any thoughts?

New 27" advice - hold me back!

Hello all, I've decided to get a new monitor and was getting out of control with my purchase ideas. Then, after a sanity kick, I recalled my graphics card was the RTX 2070 Super - so perhaps the 4k, 340Hz plan may have been too much... I'm not sure realistically what I should be aiming for. I...

G Sync query regards DisplayPort 1.2 and 1.4

Thanks for the tip. I've looked at that thread and it seems a bit of a nightmare. There was a Lenova Legend that seemed promising, but has lots of problems with black screening. Seems like - from what you're saying - that I'm best placed to look for monitors with DP 1.4. I'll see what I can...

G Sync query regards DisplayPort 1.2 and 1.4

I've tried to suss this out myself, but am not sure I've got it right yet... I'm getting a new build with the 2070 Super as my graphics card. It'as output is DisplayPort 1.4. The motherboard (Carbon B450) is 1.2. I'm looking to get a new monitor and would like to take advantage of G-Sync. My...

Really need help configuring a Pre-Build

Thanks for your input EsaT. I've found this case which seems to have ok cooling and a bay for a cd/dvd writer. I have seen a few others, but for some, cooling looks an issue. Just need to have a talk with myself and see if an extra £20 for the case is worth not having to have an external drive...

Really need help configuring a Pre-Build

So, based on the excellent help I've received, I've come up with this. I've taken ideas from what people have said and amended a few items to those in stock. Does this look ok? Will it cope with high end gaming ok? Have I made a terrible mistake with any part I've added? Regards Windows 10 -...

Really need help configuring a Pre-Build

Sorry, one additional ask. I was looking to include a CD/DVD writer. Is there something recommended - and will the cases noted accommodate it?

Really need help configuring a Pre-Build

I really appreciate your feedback - you've given me some good food for thought. I had thought the i7-9700k the better option for me, but your comments on the AMD 3700k were interesting and I think I may go with it. In terms of connectivity - should I look for internal components to ensure...

Really need help configuring a Pre-Build

Hello everyone. I have to confess to knowing very little about computers and am not brave enough to dip my toe into building my own machine quite yet. I know what I want, but am finding it hard to configure a system to meet my aims. I use my current PC mostly for gaming and storage of music...
