I just popped back in to see how it is going as well lol.
I left the Strix OC queue (£840) a month ago after 10 months of waiting and still +200 in the queue. I bit the bullet on a Strix 3080ti OC (£ please don't ask, I don't want to cry again).
How's your 3080 treating you?
Well guys it's been a fun ride. As i said earlier I finally bit the bullet and got myself a ASUS Strix 3080ti OC for far too much money. Many thanks to all the efforts Overclockers put in. :)
I was in the ASUS Strix 3080 OC queue from the 18th October last year.
Here is my queue list so you...
Well guys. After 10 months I will be removing myself from the strix 3080 oc queue. Have secured me a strix 3080ti oc. Will post where I am in the queue later.
If you want I can organise a lottery. Just sell me the stock and I will auction them off at the price I pay.
1st auction is a MSI 1070ti Gaming :D:D:D:D:D
We're just hoping for nuclear war or something to thin out the numbers at the nice end of the queue. ;) lol
I was thinking I might find out where Linus lives go rob his house. He must have about 30 x 3080's there.
I would do Jason from Jayztwocents but he lives in California in the US and...
The 3080 and 3080ti are different wafers I think. One should not really effect the other.
I would have thought you are OK with the extreme anyway. It will be the Eagle that goes if any. I think the main issue MSI and all the AIB's have is the quality of the silicon. They are getting very high...
Nope this has just been the perfect storm.
Silicon shortage.
World Wide Pandemic.
Serious problems in Global logistics. Air Freight through the roof.
Scalpers.
Bitcoin.
There are no winners here.
In terms of OC and pure power the Strix OC is the best 3080 on the market.
I don't need the money atm anyway. It was only ever going to be a toy. 4K Cuda editing and gaming etc.
I don't have the time or patience to scour discord or twitter for updates.
I am just grateful to still be on the...
I think a lot of lower end SKU's will go. From all reports the quality of the wafers being produced are unusually high. These will always go for the high end, higher profit SKU's.
I haven't had one this week. ScottiB said last Thursday the person that deals with the emails was away for a week.
I think what you see in the update thread is pretty much it + maybe a few cancellations. Cards are hard to find atm.
Perhaps we should all pay a visit to Shamining UK. I hear they have a lot of GFX's. :)
I think they work like the Amazon Store where you take the item and it automatically bills you. I will sit in the van keeping the engine running so we don't get a ticket ;). Can someone grab me a Strix OC...
It never worked like that when I used to work for what was one of the UK's largest parts distributers but we are going back a quite a few years (we are talking back in OC's Esnet days).
OC will not have any allocated stock as such. They will order however many their suppliers have in stock...
OC will probably offer us that.
Hey it could be worse. You could have paid for a 3090 and now due to receive a 3080ti. If it goes the way Samsung handles things the USA will get all the legit 3090's and the rest of the world will get the 3080ti variant.
It will get to the stage that OC cannot afford to give us cards. Even if the wholesale price goes up £100, OC stands to lose £286,500.
Trust me on this OC may be a big company but they cannot afford to lose that.
I also add that the huge difference in supply/demand at the moment will have...
