Your first sentence is exactly correct. It isn't my first choice or even my second, but I would like a GPU and I would rather it be direct from a retailer too. The reasoning behind the thread is so I can hear what other people are thinking about the fact that these are pretty much the only cards...
Thanks for the point about Battlefield as it’s probably the main game I’ll play. Not sure how demanding BF6 will be but I can’t imagine it will be too much more.
That’s the point, in an ideal world I’d take a 3080 or 6800/xt but I’m over waiting and clicking on sold out links so this would...
My monitor has neither Freesync or Gsync as it’s not really gaming focused so is a non-issue for me. Are you not tempted by Fidelity FSR?
I hadn’t seen this, I’ll have a look
That’s what I’m thinking. Ball park is £700-750 right now with regular stock so fingers crossed it will steadily drop over the next month or so for when I’m ready to pull the trigger to put a new build together.
Frankly I’m getting bored of not having a PC, and the prevalence of 6700s about the place is making my mouth water at the prospect of having something rather than nothing.
My last GPU was the 5700xt which served me well until I foolishly sold it when I hadn’t been using my rig, and it looks...
Are people really going to shell out that much? Hasn't hype chilled out to the point that people will just continue waiting instead of getting excited to the point of dropping what could have been a very good PC like 2 years ago over a new launch?
Bums me out to hear of the organised scalping...
Biggest margins I’d assume, also easiest to get hold of if you can jump around the one per customer requirement. On the last drop I had just parked the car and my phone was between WiFi and cellular unfortunately.
On that second hand site it’s looking like people aren’t touching 3080FEs at or above £1500 which I think is proof that the price is slipping back down.
Edit: Okay disregard the above I just checked the sold tab, however it does look like current listings are trending cheaper
Hopefully this doesn’t break the competitor rule (too badly) but a UK company seems to be starting them at north of £1500.

In the same boat, let go of my 5700XT as soon as I saw I could break even on it. I now have a 100hz HDR monitor that is locked to 50Hz over HDMI off my laptop graphics.
Choices were made...
Interesting insight, thanks Scotti. Real shame. Out of interest do you guys have any figures comparing the demand you've seen on the 30XX launch compared to say 20XX? Obviously understand that these might be a bit too material for public forums would however be nice to quantify what the demand...
I had heard that Bitcoin wasn't the issue this time around and that Etherium had become the reckoning force. Rumours around them making mining irrelevant are floating around at the moment and I think the shift is happening this year although not sure when. Maybe this might bring some supply to...
