Thanks for all the advice guys. I've been reading about, and very tempted to up my budget a bit to fit in a i7-4770K instead. Would it be worth while going for this at a ~£750 budget, or would I be better just going for a i5-4670k and not potentially sacrificing on other parts?

This PC most likely will never see an overclock. If I were to spend less on the cooler and a slower clock rate of RAM would having 16GB of ram make a huge difference?

You can get VGA to HDMI direct. So just VGA > converter > HDMI. Simples. If you get a converter that takes the audio from a 3.5mm jack then you are sorted.

Unless your TV accepts an anologue input into the HDMI (very unlikely) you can't do this with cables or simple adapters, you need a box to do the conversion. You can get boxes online for around £15 or so, might need to spend more for better quality. Remember though, unless the converter has it...
