Solar panels and battery - any real world reccomendations?

Many thanks for the details :) Well the Geo isn't connected, so that's out the way altogether, I basically have the inverter and the panels and that's it, there's sadly no monitoring on the system at all. If I'd like to see what its producing, I have to tap the front of the inverter to show...

Solar panels and battery - any real world reccomendations?

To be honest, either idea works for me, I'm just thinking longer term for the house and believe this sort of thing will actually be of use to someone who would like to buy the house... Thought it would definitely be an option :)

Solar panels and battery - any real world reccomendations?

When I say soon, I mean, I'd like to be moving soon lol But then everything seems to be happening at the worst possible time as always, so if I said 5 years before I moved, I might be closer to the truth to be honest.... Anything else I do to this house before I move, I can only believe it...

I've got a call due about a quote for a battery, we'll see what they come back with... Been wondering about the biggest battery but for the moment the over night usage is very small, might change with a battery...

Solar panels and battery - any real world reccomendations?

Hi everyone :) I was just wondering if there might be any advice - I'm considering to put up a battery store for my solar array, since the cost of the electric is getting rather shall we say stupid and leave it there... I was just curious if anyone had a particular 'go to' for battery...

Seems like people with solar get screwed over for trying to help themselves and possibly other when they export but get sod all in return.... I do try to use all of my generated power... I think I might consider a battery if they are thinking about charging £1+/kW... Soon make that back!!

Yeah was some crazy prices going on back then, I think I was quoted about £12,000 or something for the actual panels and then I can't remember the pay back on them... Wasn't long to be honest after I bought the house... Think they should bring something like that back in really, from what...

I am indeed, sorry, trying to upgrade a system and talk doesn't do well for english..... When roughly did you have your panels?? When mine where installed, the rates where terrible but the cost of the solar was a lot less compared to what it was previously... When did you get your solar...

I was put on a tariff where they just gave me 50% of what I generated, I'd get in export whatever I actually exported might have been different but I still got 50%. Do you have that?

I was just wondering, for anyone on solar and on an export or feed in tariff, what are you payouts like for the electric you produce and export? I recently had mine through as I registered with British Gas back when I had my solar installed back in 2017, I just wondered if anyone had better...

I'll have to find out for 100% confirmation but I think she fixed at 35p / kW and maybe something like 10p for gas?? She hardly uses anything as its a 1 bed flat with just her but I'll double check with her when we next talk :)

Tariffs in place at the moment? I have a feeling my Mum caught it bang on, she just moved into a flat and fixed for two years with EDF... should have done the same!!

I don't feel so bad when I use my Samsung plasma TV now lol I thought the newer screens would be a lot less... 50" model, I think is about 200w, with the surround sound amp, Hi-Fi and Xbox I think I pull about 300w to 350w to watch a film... I don't think spending £2000 or so on a decent...

As I'm not on a smart meter I don't know if this will apply but have you taken meter readings from the actual meter and see what you use over the course of a day/week or anything? I'd recommend a wattage plug as well, very handy things just to actually see what things pull from the wall. I...

Its amazing to think most people don't know or realise just how much electric they do use, they get a custom to paying money and that's that. I think my last months bill was £70 and my gas side of it was more day charges than actual gas... Might be rather different soon.. I'm very lucky to...

I'm the same when I say about crunching and folding and limiting the volts on the CPUs to get them to lower the power draw.. Ah what it would be like to not have to worry about things like that... TPU is another site I visit and I'm a mod on. Few project logs over there, always about...

I can add in on this a little bit since my best mate lives over in the US, he's just noticed his electric/gas going up and he was paying something like 12 cents a kW, then it went to 18 cents, he's just found a deal for 8 cents and he doesn't have a daily charge... Compared to over here, we...

My ex is a midwife or something like it so I'd hope she'd have a good standard but in these times and remembering back, I'm really not so sure but its my daughter that I worry about most. I'm extremely lucky to be in the position I'm in and I don't take that for granted and I'll never go back...

I've never got that far, but I think back to the few wonderful conversations that I've had with the CSA, the angry lady (more so but there have been one gent I think I spoke with) on the phones don't help. Thank god there's a messaging system in there but yes its just utterly unbelievable...
