That's a great shout, thanks. I've got small frame bag which I'll be packing with food/gels, plus some extra powder for the bottles. Looks a bit ominous though, bag full of white powder...

Doing Ride London this year - which is in 3 weeks! Any reviews/advice? I think I'm fairly ok with the distance, despite not having trained a massive amount, I'm generally in pretty good shape.

I currently have a Mini driver at 11.5 degrees, that has a fairly high ball flight, but not too bad. However that's a smaller head, 3 wood shaft etc. My old driver at ~8 degrees I also hit high - I have a tendency to "snap" through, creating more loft - if you're driving fairways consistently...

I realised this last summer - instead of trying to kill it, smoothly does it. Weirdly enough, started playing a lot better! I made better contact with the ball when I swang slower, so didn't sacrifice any distance - in fact in some instances gained it!

Well. Picked up a Taylormade Mini Driver to try to get some consistency off the tee - hitting 3 wood all the time is great, but want to move back towards a driver. So the mini driver seemed like a good compromise. Immediately felt better, hitting it longer and straighter. Some practice to be...

    New Car Advice

That's what I was thinking - doesn't have a "manual" handbrake though - although I thought I'd miss it, I prefer the electronic handbrake now. Although some of the "tech" is a bit annoying in the mk8, can't always be switched off and some of the switches/touchpoints aren't great.

TO be fair it's a crossover, so a bit chunkier behind the ball and fairly forgiving. I've learned the hard way that distance isn't all that :p

Played 9 holes after work last night - went well, shot a 41 (par 35) - finally got my 2 iron back from repair, forgot how easy it was to hit off the tee - a reliable 250 yards down the middle  Still struggling with my 3 wood off the tee, so having the 2 iron as an option is great. Also...

    Auxillis experience?

Surely this is an issue with insurance, rather than Auxillis? Auxillis were good for me recently. Dropped the car off when agreed, collected when agreed, worked well.

Ahhh fair point! I think in this case it might not have helped me; I ended up back in the middle of the bunker and played a bad shot up to the lip again. But if I'd been able to drop it back in the bunker, then I might've played a better shot - who knows! Thanks anyway, think I'll download the...

That's what I've been focussing on - just cutting out the massive mistakes. Instead of trying a long iron into a green where you'd typically struggle, take 2 short clubs - go Wedge > Wedge, then you're on the green. It's the same number of shots as missing the green with a long iron, then having...

I agree with @booyaka's post below yours, sounds like you're switching around a lot and losing consistency. Typically the wrong shaft wouldn't push you too far off - have you got 1" long because you're very tall, or...?

Same - Callaway MD4 50 degree, Golfbidder tend to errr on the side of caution when it comes to describing the condition of clubs, so you're more often than not surprised by the standard. Edit - plus they take trade-ins, so I traded 3 of my older wedges for 1 much newer one - ended up costing me...

Dropped off my clubs - went for the Golf Pride Multi Compound Plus4 Midsize - measured my hands - they were borderline, but went for the larger grips as I have palms like spades :o Picking them up later, very quick turnaround!

How big are your hands? Yep that's the plan, the fitting guy said he'd measure my hands and recommend a size. He has plenty of different ones in stock, so can see what I like.

Time for a club regrip - not got one done before! Noticed that the grip on my 8 iron had started to split - I've still got the original grips on! Local place does same day turnaround, so dropping in at lunchtime to get them sorted. Any recommendations for a grip?

Another competition this weekend, Captain vs Vice Captain - 4 Ball Better Ball (Matchplay). Paired up with a familiar face, vs 2 single digit handicappers  We did well, I had a couple of blow up holes, so did he - we went 1-up on the 15th (short par 4), managed to stick a wedge to 2 feet...
