    Crohns / ulcerative colitis sufferers

Whenever I’m given the choice I always look at the relevant fact sheets over at Crohns and Colitis UK, and try to pick the one with the fewest/least severe side effects. In terms of Infliximab and Adalimumab, my hospital seem to start with infliximab and if it initially works but then stops...

    Crohns / ulcerative colitis sufferers

I prefer the spring-loaded needles for sure. I have a phobia of needles and so not having to see the needle helps. Agree with the comment above about having to build up the courage to do it. Would certainly take the jab over the colitis symptoms though! Spent a couple of years on adalimumab...

    Crohns / ulcerative colitis sufferers

I too have had trouble getting critical illness cover recently with colitis. Didn’t cost too much more than normal about 6-7 years ago. I cancelled that policy when I sold my house and moved in with my partner. We recently bought a house and I was refused critical illness cover and life...

    Crohns / ulcerative colitis sufferers

Just been in touch with my IBD nurse who informed me that my blood test isn't actually due until next month. She said to get in touch with her nearer the time and they'd decide if I needed it. Hopefully, things may start to calm down in May!

Thanks Moogleys, Thats very helpful. To those of you on azathioprine, are you still having regular blood tests? I’m moderate risk, and am trying to avoid going out anywhere if possible. My next blood test is due next week, am I’m thinking of asking my IBD team whether it’s best to maybe miss...

    Oculus Rift

I can't remember, but think it was white? I plugged straight into the HDMI port on my GTX1060. Worked fine the first day. Just didn't work thereafter. Today I set up a new installation of Windows on a fresh HDD and re-installed Oculus software, same problem. I wondered about this, but then my...

    Oculus Rift

Aye, will get in touch with OcUK tomorrow morning. Just mildly irritating when new toys don’t work right away :D

    Oculus Rift

Gah, set my new Oculus Rift up last night and all seemed fine. Fired the PC up this evening and the right screen doesn't seem to be working. It's just black. Had a good wiggle of all the cables, reinstalled video drivers and Oculus software to no avail. Anyone else come across this issue? From a...

What did you do to your bike today?

Thanks guys :) After almost 12 years without an off, it was a stark reminder for me how dangerous our hobby is. Still, as hobbies go, nothing comes close :D Haha, yes, I see Aprilia seem to be the big thing on OcUK these days. I will definitely be test riding one when the time comes.

What did you do to your bike today?

What did I do with my bike? Wrote it off and ended up with this nice souvenir: I was riding along an A road when someone drove straight out of a side rode and into my path (turning right, across the lane I was riding along). I hit them straight in the driver side door. I managed to...

    Complete and absolute novice

When the hell did mid 30s become quite old!! Haha. But yes, I'd echo Participant's comments.

    Sensible next move?

I used to have a '09 Fireblade which is pretty much unchanged from the later versions, save for ABS and cosmetic differences. I thought it was a very capable bike, but for some reason I found mine to be uncomfortable. I think this was just down to my particular shape, though. It'd make a good...

What did you do to your bike today?

Went up to Scotland for the weekend for a ride out with some family. I've been thinking of changing my S1000RR for something more comfortable as I'm doing more and more miles these days and the bike is currently my only source of transport. Currently at 28k miles, 26k of those I've put on. The...

Farewell to the Bonneville and Street Triple R - Hello S1000RR!

Riding at night is fine. Headlight isn't as good as something like the GS, but it easily does the job.

Maybe found a replacement for the GS

They all look good. I particularly like the look of that R1200RS.

    Took a CBR500R for a test ride.

I used to have a '98 CB500, and found it to be great fun, even when coming off my CB900 Hornet. Perhaps they have messed the engine up by lowering it's output from 58bhp to 47 bhp?

Tasty. I toy every now and then with changing the S1000RR with a K1300S. Out of interest, did you have much go wrong with your previous one over the 48k miles?

    Filtering

I've spent years riding into the centre of Manchester every day, and suppose I have my own style. I'm no where near as aggressive as some of the vloggers, I just take it nice and easy. Filtering saves me, on average, 30 mins each way over driving. Plus, it feels so good to just ride effortlessly...
