Not even got my build up properly due to work and the rog z690 a messing up my watercooling dreams dam those heat sinks.
Previously had 2x 360mm x 54mm rads in my lan li dynamic xl but the new board heat sink catchs on rad fan so had to loose that 360 in the top.
New build 360mm x 54mm bottom...
whys every one going on about power and heat, with tweaked voltages we can bring down heat and power usage just like the 10 series I may even de-lid mine.
Glad I brought A DDR4 board for my 12900KF for gaming mainly yes I know I could have gone for cheaper 12700K or even 12600K but I'm really interested in how these little cores will work in windows 11 so went top dog should have it under water by next week hopefully.
As to cost some of u might...
the way you suggest my case would just heat up causing whole system temp to rise
it makes total sense to draw cold air in then through radiators taking heated air out the case if u had a 3090 and a 10900Kf u would understand.
Tried that ended up with worse temps getting much better temps in the confiq I suggested I don't see 3 more fans a complication get some that daisy chain and its one more cable to a fan header. but I guess OP can try it out first and see what happens
I went TUF GAMING Z690-PLUS D4 and brought a separate Wi-Fi 6E card because It will fit my Ek CPU block I want to keep my 4133 ddr4 as I don't think DDR5 is going to be that amazing till the Z790's come out and of course £75 quid rebate
@darkBytes you going to get some side fans fitted to bring some cool air into those rads a rear fan as a intake with both rads extracting (blowing out) air this will give u much better temps
personally I've gone for a DDR4 board one of the TUF series sick of overspending on high end boards with features I don't use that clock the same as the lower tier boards.
when I finally go DDR5 it will be on the release of Z790 boards should be much better Kits about by then and also board...
The holes are fixed in this block so will never fit 1700 but the asus boards with the 1200 and 1700 holes will be fine will be fitting one to my 12900KF
