I don't blame reviewers but 10 mins stress test is not really showing what a person who is using it for those purposes will see, very interested now in X3D my 12900k can wait until then.
Yes, it is, they should have done a better job to keep it cool, But intel have just done worse, so if I was buying one now I would probably inch toward AMD especially since it now being a dead platform. ( The intel platform )
That was the deal breaker for me it's thermal throttling I mean they are running them in an AC room, my room is at 30c most of the time even now with a window open. It's going to probably throttle below the AMD CPUs in non-AC'ed conditions. I have AC but i am not running it all winter.
Fastest for sure the temps and power-draw suggest intel has there back against the wall, I expect the X3D will crush them fairly soon. Seems like a good time for me to get on board with AMD for the first time since like forever.
Well, I think I will be going AM5, I have a 12900k atm and an Asus Extreme MB so not exactly an easy choice but tbh it just seems like they have O/Ced to the max.
Out of curiosity when was the last time there was such a Cuda core gap from the top to the 080 series, seems to be forced into buying 4090 I am sure they will release a 4080ti that's a lot closer but still :/
It does feel like NVIDIA is not giving the AIBs much room to move with regard to increasing the performance of the FE. Perhaps this also added to the EVGA decision.
Nice now rush normally I am lazy and wait until I have access to the prebuilt options but not sure the extra cash is going to be worth it over the FE this time around.
