Haha the 13900k looks awful. Ridiculous power consumption, insane heat and very little , if any in some areas, performance gain over the 7950. This gen has been bad on both sides from AMD and Intel

I don't think Intel allow reviews right away so don't take away sales from the more expensive chips that give higher margins

Guess I'll keep waiting then, mobos and water blocks I want for AM5 or LGA1700 aren't in stock anyway.

Just want to see 7700X vs 13700K with a 4090 at 4K minimum FPS

Exactly what many were expecting, fastest gaming CPU. Best CPU to pair with a 4090 as well, @Grim5 do you agree?
Fastest for sure the temps and power-draw suggest intel has there back against the wall, I expect the X3D will crush them fairly soon. Seems like a good time for me to get on board with AMD for the first time since like forever.

6 mins for the 12900K to hit TJMax with a 360 AIO
17s for the 13900k to hit TjMAX with a 360 AIO

I've undervolted my 12900k on a custom loop with 3x 360 rads to keep reasonable loads temps, but this chip is HAWT!

Depends what you do though Dave, Ryzen 7000 shreds Intel in emulation due to its real and dominant AVX-512 support in emulators like RPCS3 and as an avid supporter of AVX-512 like yourself, the choice is clear on what your new CPU should be if you were not a fanboy.

Combined with a 4090 and a cpu demanding game, 1000 Watts just for 13900k and gpu alone!
Really? You think a 4090 and a 13900k will draw 1k watts. In a game? LOL ok buddy.

On topic, the MT results are very underwhelming. For gaming, yeah it's really really fast, can't see the 3d holding a candle to this - especially with the fast ddr5 adies.

That was the deal breaker for me it's thermal throttling I mean they are running them in an AC room, my room is at 30c most of the time even now with a window open. It's going to probably throttle below the AMD CPUs in non-AC'ed conditions. I have AC but i am not running it all winter.
