No joy on BMC. And the DP2 Power-On LED on the motherboard is not lit. According to the troubleshooting info in the manual this indicates there is no standby power to the motherboard. I guess the MB is shot. I'll order a new one :-(

I have now noticed a flashing green small LED on the MB under the SAS card next to the COM2 socket. No idea what that is ! ======================= The LED is the DP1 BMC Heartbeat LED. It's flashing so it implies that BMC should be working. I'll try and connect using that.

Thanks Guys, I managed to get it off quite easily in the end with a pair of small nosed pliers. The thermal compound has been replaced and a fan put in the case moving air over the heat sink. Temps look a lot better now :-) I'll keep monitoring.
