Free VPN to use in China for a couple of days?

I just got back from a 2 week trip to Shanghai; I started using off using 'private internet access (https://www.privateinternetaccess.com)' but after a couple of days every server gradually became 'unavailable', I can only assume as they were detected and locked down. Seems VPNs are now illegal...

*** The Official Destiny Thread (now includes 2.0 and TTK) ***

Bad timing there; I find Iron banner drops a few 335 ghost shells when you've hit rank 5, I got two at 335 and a couple at 334 last night, not forgetting the guaranteed 320 in the rank 5 package. Of course it's over just about now! Being billy no mates, I've never done a raid, and have all 3...

** The Official Space Flight Thread - The Space Station and Beyond **

The kickstarter phase is about setting up project planning from what I can see, there is some information on their website about further funding; "We’ve undertaken market research in the UK and the USA which demonstrated a strong interest in the mission and the digital memory boxes. Based on...

Anybody following Lunar Mission One? http://lunarmissionone.com/index.php/lunar-mission-one Sorry if I missed a post, couldn't see any reference on here and the kickstarter is already halfway there.....

    *** Desk and Room Gallery***

I have finally swapped out my mismatched Samsungs on the top row, having spent the last six months fighting bad caps and a 20 minute start up cycle! Always nice to have matching sets, and for them to switch on straight away.... And all three for just a bit more than I paid originally...

    **XBOX ONE** Official Thread

I just got back from the pop up Game store in the Trocodero with a day one Forza bundle, they seemed to have quite a few in there, although that was at 4pm. I also have a standard edition arriving from Argos tomorrow, that I ordered this morning, so there certainly seem to be some. Neither...

    OcUK Cinebench R15 benchmark thread

CPU is OK, but I can never get a decent Open GL on this thing, 690?? pah. Not sure what happened to CPU-Z, I'm sure it used to show more information than that, must be having an off day. Edit: Re sized and added a single core test.

    Windoes 7 Firewall

I use sphix-soft's 'Windows firewall control' on all my machines, (windows 7&8) and can heartily recommend it. It's not an additional firewall, but it lets you know if something wants in or out, and lets you block/unblock with a lot less hassle than the actual window firewall interface...

Nice, maybe time to replace the nexus, 1080 on a phone does sound good, I've been using mine a lot as an ereader, so that could cut down eye strain.

Liking the 'oppo find 5' Grudas, how's the build quality? I've found my phone battery has been taking a beating since I got a Surface Pro to replace Asus transformer, so for all my Google action I picked up a Nexus 7, dock and cover, probably should have waited for the refresh, but meh, I'll...

    Your Working Hours

easily 12 hours a day, usually 7 days a week. but I'm self employed, charging by the hour, and working from home. Having just done my accounts for the last financial year, I was distressed to see I had had nearly 14 days off! Must be getting lazy.

Spec me some tablets (work related)

I'll add another recommendation for the surface pro, I'm loving mine, I have office 2013 pro on it, haven't used access yet, but I've run 3D studio Max, AutoCAD & creative suite, so I can't imagine access being a problem. Office 2013 is OK as it's been touch optimised, but other desktop...

A random collection; A Bluetooth mouse & active display port adapter for the Surface pro. The mouse is OK, but it's redeeming feature is, it doesn't need a USB receiver. An actual boxed piece of software, haven't seen one of these for a while, strangely it was cheaper that a digital...

    Windows updates keep failing

I had that. I also had disk access at 100% pretty much the whole time because the cheap crucial V4 (not M4 I have a few of those & they're flawless) was awful as boot drive, and the controller was being saturated. A Samsung SSD and a re install 'fixed' it for me, I trawled the Microsoft...

*** The Official Microsoft Surface Pro Thread ***

It's not comparable to an iPad at all, an iPad is a big phone, the Surface Pro is a small computer. As a computing device it is much more capable, I currently have Photoshop, illustrator, AutoCAD and 3D studio on mine, not to mention Steam; Portal 2 runs very nicely. Also, with the...

Virtual XP in Windows 7; possible to get scanner working?

I use a canon Lide 30 in windows XP mode under widows 7, it works fine, just use the attach USB menu & install drivers if needed.

I was pleasantly surprised by the gaming graphics score, although I haven't managed to get it playing any games yet, it seems the intel graphics driver likes to scale the game resolution to match the desktop scaling, which is 150% (which it has to be to be usable at 1080p on such a small screen)...

*** The Official Microsoft Surface Pro Thread ***

It's heavy, weighs about the same as my transformer & the dock combined, feels a lot heavier than an iPad. As a tablet only, the desktop is a bit small, you need the pen, or a mouse, but I've found the handwriting recognition is very good. The start/metro interface is good with touch though...
