Finally pulled the trigger on the Oneplus 12 from aliexpress (16GB/512GB for £485). Chinese version with Global ROM so I guess if I'm unhappy with it, i'll just sell it. [edit] ended up refunding and getting the Nubia Z60 Ultra instead :eek:

Looks like the oneplus 12 is back on sale on Wonda. I think I might pull the trigger but I'm still a little spooked by the regionlock fiasco. Did any of you guys order from them? Any issues? Any issues post update on the EU ROM?

Honestly, I think you need to have a think about what you actually want. You're going to get a biased response here because 1. you're posting in a thread about steam decks and 2. you're posting on a forum of majority PC gamers. You need to do some research about what platform you want to game...

The OLED version is way better than the LCD not just for its screen (which is night and day difference), it's also got better battery life, quieter fan and supports 90 Hz. SteamOS defaults to 1080p on my TV until you load a game. The way to get a game to render at a higher resolution is in its properties where you can set the resolution. It's a bit annoying setting each game's resolution individually but you'd probably end up doing it anyway if they all defaulted...

If most of your games are steam then the deck is a no brainer.

Check out Emudeck for emulating older systems but other than that, it's pretty much pick up and play.
