I installed 5800X while I was waiting for my 5900X RMA and temps were noticeable higher. I get 60-62° in R20 with 5900X with D15 cooler, same setup with 5800X was around 78-80°. I prefer a silent system with low rpm fans so much happier now I've got my 5900X back. Just something to consider if...
I would still get the odd crash with just C-State disabled although it did improve stability. My RMA 5900X is scheduled to arrive today so will report back, not bad turnaround tbh less than two weeks from contacting support.
Had to RMA my 32GB kit as one of the sticks would repeatedly produce errors regardless of speed set in bios, even as low as 2400 would produce errors :( Requested a replacement kit, what's the usual turnaround at the mo?
Been struggling with 5900X and MSI MEG ACE X570, was getting constant BSOD while idling or lightly threaded loads yet stress testing and benchmarks would run fine no issues with performance inline with reviews and decent temps with D15 (Idle = 28-32°, R20 = 60-65°). Spent ages flashing different...
Putting together new build (3080+5800X) and considering these 16 or 32 kits. For a purely gaming build at 4K which kit would be recommended, is 32GB required or overkill?
COVID means he's working/learning from home remotely these days, I have considered 3080 but that was going over original budget and I'm not sure I love him that much :D
Yeah he's only 17 and this is his personal computer he uses for completing assigned tasks at home for his current diploma course in game development. He'll be going university next year and I wanted to get him something to replace aging 1070.
I was looking to upgrade my sons rig from 1070 to 3070 but this whole 8GB concern is.... concerning! He plays everything but is also studying game design and development so uses UE4 on daily basis, implementing RT into his projects going forward is a requirement also. His current setup is X570...
Oh yeah of course but it's the risk you take and not everyone are *********. On this occasion the guy has left positive feedback and happy with his purchase
Yep they paid instantly and should receive the card today. The card was sold before knowing how the 3000 series would perform and priced, I'll sleep fine :D New 3080 with change, I'm going to hell right!?
