What happens if you don't have a will? Do your next of kin/parents/siblings automatically get your stuff?

NO if you die with out a will the government get it or at least most of it. People always assume that it get divided equally among family, its not always the case.

Thats mostly bull. The rules of intestacy kick in, so your spouse will get it, or your children, or your parents, or grandparents - in that order. If none of these exist then Crown gets it.

Yep, if you are happy with the provisions laid out by the rules of intestacy then not setting up a will is a perfectly valid way of distributing your estate after your death. However I'd advise reading up on it before simply allowing it to happen and probably also inform your next of kin that the rules of intestacy are what you expect to be followed so they aren't surprised/don't waste time searching for a will that simply isn't there.
